Best of 2008: A recap
Our first wave of polls has now washed over us, and we're ready to examine how our great democratic experiment has played out. This series of polls was related to the Best of 2008, and we're about to find out what you, the fair citizens of the Telltale Community, had to say on the subject. Onward!
What was your favorite episode of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People?
This one was a close race between the fourth and fifth episodes in the season, but ultimately 8-Bit Is Enough edged out Dangeresque 3 for ultimate victory in the field of Strong Baditude, taking 40% of the votes.
Which Sam & Max game did you like best in 2008?
Chariots of the Dogs blew past all the other offerings, taking 38% of the total votes, which isn't too surprising considering the heaps of praise it received upon its release. What's New, Beelzebub? came in second with 25% of the votes.
What was your favorite Telltale video in 2008?
The "Behind the Bad" documentary series emerged victorious after a very close fight against the excellent trailer for What's New, Beelzebub?. You should probably go watch those again right now.
Who gets your vote for best lead character of 2008?
While it's not too shocking that Max beat out all comers in this poll with 40% of the vote, it's interesting that Strong Bad only managed a 3rd place slot, 3 votes shy of Sam's tally. Double burn.
What was Telltale's most exciting announcement in 2008?
The April announcement of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People was voted the most exciting, and I'm inclined to agree, seeing as it resulted in the doubling of our community's size almost overnight. Wallace & Gromit's announcement managed a respectably close second place finish in this poll.
What was your favorite Sam & Max moment in 2008?
The Mariachi song in Chariots of the Dogs blew (and strummed, and…violined) away the other moments in the poll, who squabbled amongst themselves for the leftover votes. Drinking from the fountain of youth in Moai Better Blues managed to squeak past the final showdown with the Soda Poppers and the soul swap between Sam, Max, and the Monster to be the second-favorite moment.
Which of these moments in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People did you like best?
44% of the voters agreed that the final showdown with Trogdor in 8-Bit Is Enough was the moment they liked the best in the whole Strong Bad season. Coming in a distant, distant second was the Death of Dadgeresque in Dangeresque 3.
Cast your vote for Best Supporting Character (Sam & Max)!
In the most lopsided poll in this Best of 2008 series, 50% of you thought that Flint Paper was by far the best supporting character in Sam & Max. Jurgen took second place with a mere 17% of the vote.
Who is your favorite supporting character in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People?
It was Homsar, far and away, with 45% of the vote. Clearly, he was chosen for the serious, pivotal role he played in Strong Badia the Free. Strong Sad took a shameful second place. Seriously, how'd he convince 22% of the people to vote for him?
Hope you guys enjoyed the new poll feature; there'll be more to come soon! Thanks for voting.
