SnM + Steam = BFF

TelltaleGamesTelltaleGames Former Telltale Staff

A longstanding hobby of Telltalers is playing Team Fortress 2 after work, because there's nothing quite like shooting your coworker in the face to bring up the office morale.

Yare, our dashing team captain, was proud of what he had wrought in us. The TTG TF2 server was burgeoning, bullets were flying about and people were eagerly discussing the benefits to having a Direct Hit instead of a normal rocket launcher.

Perhaps, it was time to bring it to the next level.

The SEALSThe Best Around

We formed what became known as the Telltale Seals, a dedicated group of TF2 murder machines bent on showing the interwebs that adventure gaming companies can kill. After participating against amalgamated teams of game studios in a tournament called Studio Rumble, we learned our lesson quickly.

The "next level" was far beyond our skill curve.

It turns out we're better at making games than targeting faces. After flirting with disaster, we decided to be just friends, but we were charming in our own right. The Telltale Seals forged valuable friendships that lasted through the 8-hour workdays and beyond, and with every message of "don't quit your day job," we were bolstered by our skill in game creation. In paticular, a friendship was kindled with Valve.

Whole Lagomorph Is Baby

You have heard that through the next week, buying The Devil's Playhouse through Steam gets exclusive weapons and a hat, correct? But you have not heard the full story. How did Valve get these items in which to disperse? We mean no accusation of treachery, but to get a fuller sense of the picture, we will let you in on our latest conversations with Valve.

Dearest Valve,

We apologize for our presents last week, we did not know that the flowers would cause Robin such an allergic attack, and we hope everyone has recovered from the illness brought on by our love poem. We mean only the best.

As a consolation, could you please accept these gifts on our behalf? We heard you liked Sam and Max (or maybe we heard you liked The Penal Zone, either way) and wanted to give you a token of peace between us. Guns should do the trick, and a severed head. It might be a little sappy, but we think it's appropriate.

Think of us dearly while plugging lead into enemy faces, and we shall do the same.

All our love,
Telltale Games

Though we have not yet received a reply, we presume that they loved our items so much that they're giving them away to Steam users! Pre-order customers and anyone who buys The Devil's Playhouse throughout this week receives Max's Pistol, Sam's Revolver and Max's Severed Head to use within Team Fortress 2. They must have been really impressed! Right guys? ...Right?

Let me tell you, it's quite an honor to get Valve involved with The Devil's Playhouse, almost as fun as asking them to check out The Penal Zone. You can too, you know. To get all the awesome goodies, rush over to the Steam Store and wear a lagomorph as a hat. It's an experience unlike any other.
