The 1985 Back to the Future Teaser Trailer: Redux
Remember the original teaser trailer for Back to the Future from the early 80's? You know, the goose bump inducing one, comprised almost entirely of extreme closeups of a Nike clad Marty McFly stepping into and activating the DeLorean time machine. Well, Spike TV has remade the teaser trailer as a promo for the 2010 Scream Awards, with Michael J. Fox reprising his role as Marty!
Spike TV changed a line or two at the end of their spot, but it's otherwise a very faithful recreation of the trailer that, in my opinion, would have made Back to the Future totally un-missable for kids and adults alike back in good ol' 1985.
[readmore]There's something about the mysterious nature of the teaser coupled with the 1980's era 'something technology related is happening' music that's just perfect. Paired with the revelation that the sneaker wearing figure is just a kid with a huge smirk on his face, the sense of Back to the Future being a ton of fun is palpable.
After watching the original trailer (above), my excitement level is at 11 about the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary festivities. What are your thoughts about the remade teaser trailer?
