November 5, the day Marty arrived in 1955 in the first Back to the Future film, also marked the start of the We're Going Back - The 25th Anniversary Reunion celebration in Burbank, CA and the surrounding areas that stood in for locations around Hill Valley in the classic movies. It's a weeklong homage to the Back to the Future films that ends this Friday at the Hollywood United Methodist Church gymnasium, where a re-creation of the Enchantment Under the Sea dance will take place (the scene was filmed in that gym). Many of the We're Going Back events involve recreations of scenes from the movies, but one of the cooler ones I've seen so far is the re-living the 'DeLorean on rails' from the end of Part III.

As part of the festivities, We're Going Back organizers arranged for a replica of the DeLorean time machine from the third film to be placed (and driven) on the train tracks in the city of Port Hueneme where the destruction of the DeLorean by the oncoming train was filmed after an in-depth tour of Back to the Future filming locations around the LA area.

You can read more about the scene recreation and the ongoing We're Going Back events over at BTTF.com or at the official We're Going Back website. BTTF.com is also a great place to get the latest Back to the Future news!

What would be your favorite Back to the Future filming location to visit?
