Relive Back to the Future: The Ride
Do you guys remember Back to the Future: The Ride that used to be at three of the four Universal Theme parks? The premise for the ride, a motion simulator in the vein of the Disney park stalwart Star Tours, was a chase through time in a modified DeLorean to stop Biff Tannen.
The ride was pretty fantastic for its time, its first incarnation opened at Universal Studios Florida in 1991, and had featured an elaborate queue experience explaining Doc Brown's Institute of Future Technology and why 1955 Biff was there. One of my favorite parts of the ride was the queue video, which I got to view many times as the line for the ride was always long - usually over an hour! Another favorite was the radical Back to the Future themed gift shop - so much good stuff in there.
The Hollywood and Orlando locations closed in 2007 to make way for The Simpsons Ride. The Simpsons Ride does feature an homage to Back to the Future: The Ride though, in the form of an animated cameo by Doc Brown (voiced by Christopher Lloyd). The only place you can still travel through time in a crowded DeLorean anymore is at Universal Studios Japan.

Maybe they'll do another Back to the Future ride some day.
