Wrong resolution on Startup (Mac)

Hi, I have a Macbook pro retina, and a steam copy of the game.

When I launch the game everything is fine, but the game launches in a resolution that is much lower than the native resolution of the Macbook. This means that I only see a small corner of the screen, but I cant see the menu and hence cannot change the settings. (I've had very similar problems, but with different games.)

I've tried using steam's launch options to change the resolution or run in windowed mode, but to no avail.

    This issue is being discussed here. As a workaround disable automatic graphics switching appears to help.
