Game Stuck on Demo

I can't seem to get my game to unlock. I had it unlocked earlier on my PS3 but my hard drive crapped out so I installed a new one. Everything is back to normal on the PS3 so I decided to install the game again since I lost all my saves for it. Installed everything like before and now the game just doesn't activate. I also bought the season pass. But I already know that only unlocks future episodes. I downloaded Episode 1 plus the key.

Even on the game menu it says I own the Season Pass and I have episode 1 installed, yet when I go to play it says I have the demo. I even played through it and it is the demo. I can't seem to get this darn thing to flag my account right. I also see the key drop in the game data but for some reason when the game becomes installed on the PS3 it wipes the key right out of the game data folder so I'm not sure if that's intended or not. I've installed about ten times now from all over the playstation store. I also restarted the PS3 a couple of times. So any guidance on this would be great because I just can't seem to get this to work now.

This is not an issue we've had reported before, but we have an idea that might help. It could be that you have a save game from when you unlocked the game originally, and that save game is expecting a key with the serial number used to unlock it the first time. If you navigate to your save game utility and delete any Wolf Among Us save files and then try again with a fresh install of the key, that could get you back in business.

It would be great to hear back on what the solution for this is.

  • I'm having the exact same problem as this. I downloaded the demo and then decided to download the season pass. I did that yesterday now I've gone on the game and its also stuck on demo. I don't have any saves to delete..... please help I wanna play the game!

Please let us know your solution so it can help the next person. Thanks.

  • I have the same problem. I bought the season pass in psn easter sale and then I downloaded episode 1 in two files, install and unlock file, and ps3 installed them automatically. When the game starts it installs the 1.01 patch. In the game it says I have the season pass, but still the episode 1 is demo. There is no save game to delete. I tried also to take the psplus cloudsave option off, but that didn't do the trick. Also tried NOT to install the 1.01 patch, but the problem remains..

Can you please clarify how large your Unlock Key file was? You may have downloaded the second episode. Please note that the Unlock Key should be about 2.3 mb in size, and you can find it either on the game's page, or from your View Downloads page from the Playstation Store main menu.
