Third Episode won't start

I play the game through steam and play with mac OS 10.9 Mavericks. When I click play episode 3, it goes to a black screen and it sounds like rain and wind in the background. The mouse pointer is still visible but nothing else happens. Its weird because ep. 3 is the only one that doesn't work. There also seems to be a problem with the autosaves because it won't save any of the games that do work.
