Another saves games gone scenario!

Completed the first season a while back, can't remember exactly when but maybe earlier this year. Finally got round to downloading "400 Days" only to find that my saved progress has disappeared and it's asking if I want to "Generate story decisions for skipped episodes". No. I don't. I want my saved games. I never experienced any problems playing the game preciously. I'm playing on a PC with the non-Steam version.
I've done a full computer search for "prefs.prop" and the only one I can find (other than ones for other games) is in "C:\Users\admin\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead" and is dated today (03/12/13). As I can't see any older versions of this file does that mean I'm screwed?
Is there an official fix for this issue?

Judging by the size the prefs.prop got corrupted and was replaced at some point. The original prefs.prop is required though to access your savegames.

You can try the "restore previous version" feature (right click, "properties", "restore previous version") on the prefs.prop in the savegame folder ( %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead ).

You do have another prefs.prop at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\GameData\Pack\default
    Which that might work on.
If you get a prefs.prop that's bigger than just 8KB, move it to the savegame folder. Otherwise, delete it.

I don't know any other solution that could recover your savegames.
