Black screen and I cannot continue my progress!

So I've been trying to load my game that I've previously been playing offline, but now when I get to the level select (I was in the middle of episode four) it only gives me the option to 'continue' episode three and to 'play' episode four. I have tried to continue from episode three but when I press 'continue' it prompts me saying that I am about to rewind, when I press no I just get a black screen and I can only move my cursor. When I try to 'play' episode four I get a prompt saying do I want to let the game generate decisions.

This is really annoying as I've been enjoying the game so much. Help?

    Can you please clarify if you are playing on Mac or PC? Also, if you are on a computer, are you playing through Steam, through a Telltale Games digital download, or a physical disc copy?

    Please check Steam and make sure your Cloud Saves are turned off. This may resolve the issue, as we recommend that you play The Walking Dead with Cloud Saves turned off.

    It might be a more tricky savegame issue. I can take a look.

    Please follow the instructions to run the TWD Support Tool and post the download link to the resulting "TWD_support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.

    Looks promising. There are 2 active prefs.prop files.

    Please run this script to keep the prefs.prop in the savegame folder, and deactivate the one in the steam folder.

  • Hello, i'm having the same problem as OP, only i'm playing on PC via Steam (Windows 7 x64). i could use some help, because this have not happened to me for the first time. sooner or later, i'm not allowed to continue my play because of this problem. the furthest i got was Episode 3. thanks
