Game crashing on startup - Windows 8

I purchased the game a few hours ago, and have not been able to get the game to work whatsoever. I am not using a controller, so it is not the controller crashing problem that is in windows 8. Whenever I try to open the game, it just closes out and says "Thewalkingdead2 is not responding". I have ran as admin, and tried every single compatibility mode as well. If anyone has any insight, that would be lovely. Thank you!

    Same issue. Seems like Telltale cant help but screw up. Unplug your controller if you have one. That fixes one known issue with these games, but its not my issue here.

    COME ON TT fix this!

    I FIGURED IT OUT. Whether or not you have a controller plugged in, use the "dinput8.dll" fix that was for controller support in the first game. Put the .dll file in the game's folder, and it works like a charm.

    you gotta be kidding me!! I've basically flipped my computer inside out, lastnight. After reading this, I unplugged my pc Xbox controller..started the game up and it works .... !! I know there are a few games that have issues when an xbox controller is plugged in. It's a strange deal cause you would think developers, develop their games with the xbox controller!
