Just downloaded season 2 and getting the same error (checked all firewall and AV settings).
For the record I just ran up Season 1 and that connects fine so we are looking at a client issue. Server connection timeout setting too low maybe?

Update: It worked for me! What I did was I did the REGEDIT thing, then I restarted my computer.
After that I ran the game and tried it a couple of times before it worked.
Hopefully all of you got it to work!
I might add that even after the wait, the episode is DEFINITELY worth it.
I eventually got in. Didn't do the reg-edit, it just let me in after a long time waiting. Guess they didn't anticipate how many people would be hitting thier servers at once on release day. Now I just need to figure out why its so sluggish in response to my actions. Keep getting killed in the forest because it won't recognise me hitting the direction key.

Hey Mike,I'm using a PC.I downloaded the game from Telltale yesterday.I still can't play it because of the "error cannot communicate with Telltale servers".
Here are a few suggestions that have worked for other users:
Please make sure your password ONLY contains a-z, A-Z, and 0-9 and no other characters. If you have an " or \ or any non-ASCII characters in your password, please login to your account on our website and change your password.
This may also be an issue with your registry. Please open a command window. (Below are instructions on how to open a command window)
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "cmd" and press enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the Windows key. Type in "cmd" and press enter
Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "cmd" and press enter
Then copy the command line below and paste it into the command window, press enter, and confirm the question (to confirm the question, type and press enter):
REG DELETE "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telltale Games\Launcher
Please then try launching The Walking Dead again.
Thanx Mike! It worked! On a small note I have to say I loved the Season 1 intro screen more!It looked far better than the Season 2 one.Didn't start the game yet though,just fixed the graphics options!

This isn't working for me. I downloaded the game directly from TTG and since I've installed it, I immediately get the "cannot reach servers" error when i try to login. I tried the above solution and it did not work either. I've tried redownloading the install file, uninstalling and reinstalling and still the same thing. I'm running Win8. Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks. I just tried changing my password (even though it fit the criteria before), restarting my computer, and it worked somehow. Thanks for the help.
