I have Windows 7 64bit, Screen: 1920x1080, Colours: 32bit

  • If you're trying to play with the XBox 360 controller on the PC, please unplug it.

Also did you have any issues at all with the savegames during Season 1? Or did you skip any 'in between episodes' during season 1, e.g. you played s1e2 and s1e4, but not s1e3?

  • Thanks for your help.
No, i´m not playing with any Xbox Controller or something like this.

I had no issues with the savegames in Season 1 and i didn´t skipped any Episode.
    Hm.....

Before doing any changes I would recommend that you backup your savegames for the Walking Dead you can find the folder under '%username%\Documents\Telltale Games' (without quotes).
If you ever played the season 1 in compatibility mode you can find save games in '%public%\Documents\Telltale Games' (without quotes). If there are such savegames, save them to another place. Don't overwrite the contents of one folder with the other folder. Although we do not touch them, there is a slight chance that they could be deleted if deinstalling the game.

Well now we can start to sort out the more general stuff:

    • Please make sure that the graphics driver is up-to-date. You can use Steam therefore, if you have it. After opening Steam click on the menu item 'Steam' and then on 'Check for Video Driver Updates'
    • If you're playing it on steam you could verfiy the game cache
    • You could deinstall and reinstall the game if you're willing to do so.
    • You could check the Event Viewer, for finding errors related to telltale or to The Walking Dead.

After you've opened the Event Viewer expand on the left side the 'Custom Views' and then click on 'Administrative Events'. Windows generates a list this can take several seconds. Don't panick if you see a lot of errors, in most cases this means nothing dramatic. Now check in the 'Source' tab (in the list of events) if you can find anything related to Telltale or to the Walking Dead. Usually they're sorted by 'Date and Time' so you should find it pretty quick. If you see any event related to the Walking Dead click on it. Details are then shown in in the greyish middle portion of the window. You can then try to find anything related to this error.

    Hope it helps

Please try switching to windowed mode by pressing Alt-Enter during the black screen.

If that doesn't help, please follow the instructions to run the TWD Support Tool and post the download link to the resulting "TWD_support_data_pc.zip" or "TWD_support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.
