walkingdead101.exe stopped working
Hey guys
I know that this problem occured a lot of thimes and as not each and everyone of us got the same issued causing this error, I just opened a new thread about this.
As already told in the title, the .exe stops at start. I tried administrator mode, I veryfied the game cache, I even downloaded and reinstalled the game again. It only likes to run in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode, but then the soundloops and image is stuttering, although everything ran smoothly in my first walkthrough.

oh and by the way: this only occurs for Season 1 via Steam. Season 2 (bought via TT directly) runs fine so far...

Please delete the dinput8.dll from
\Programme\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead
Then verify the game cache files again.
If it still crashes, please check the properties of the Steam.exe, your Steam icons, and the games .exe files, and disable any compatibility mode settings.
Sometimes compatibility mode is checked, but is grayed out. Then you have to click on "Change settings for all users" at the bottom to disable the checkbox.
Afterwards try if the game works.
If you made absolutely sure, that the method mentioned above didn't work to disable it, you can try disabling it in the registry. Then restart the computer and try running the game again.
Should it still not work, please check if the game crash creates an entry in the
event viewer in the "Windows Logs/Application" section.
If so, right click the entry, select "copy the details as text", and paste them in a new reply.
That did it for me so far. I just unchecked all of the compatibility modes, startet steam as administrator and was able to run TWD as it should be.
I'll see in a moment if it also works if I start steam regularly, without selecting administrator mode.
