Save file to play 400 Days?
Hello all,
In anticipation of season 2 coming out, I have reinstalled season 1 in order to play the DLC ep "400 Days". However, I am a little perturbed to find that the game seems unable to load my save file - I'm certain it's in the right location: "Users > My Name > Documents > Telltale Games > The Walking Dead". However, I've had no joy.
I'm not sure I really have the heart to play the DLC (or even season 2) if none of my choices will have been saved.
I have run the support tool, and the link is here:

Any help would really be appreciated!

That's definitely no complete playthrough. Did you delete files from the savegame folder or did you do anything else manually with it?
Your save directories seem to be all set up correctly. Can you please provide any more information about the issue you are experiencing?
Thanks for the quick replies. DjNDB, I don't believe I have deleted anything, although it's certainly possible. I have reinstalled the game in order to play 400 Days, having transferred the save games to a USB before I uninstalled it the first time. I then transferred the most recent save back into the Telltale Games - Walking Dead folder. Although I thought I had copied everything relevant, it's not impossible that I missed something. Although I hope not!
In order to have consistent savegames you need all .save files and the prefs.prop. You only have one .save file (there should be dozens) and a prefs.prop that's so small, that it's most likely broken at some point and got replaced.
If you are very very lucky you can restore them as described below, but too much time might have passed...
Please try the "restore previous version" feature (right click, "properties", "restore previous version") on the savegame folder ( %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead ). If there are multiple versions try restoring each of them starting with the latest. If the prefs.prop is much bigger than 10KB chances are best it's the correct set of savefiles.
Your comment about a prefs.prop file triggered a memory that I had another USB with other game saves on it. Taking a look, I found the complete list of saves - along with the prefs file. I've just transferred them across, and it now seems to be working. Don't know why I didn't look there first (or, indeed, why the files were on two different drives). Regardless, it now seems to be up and running. Thank you very much for your help.
