Steam version of Tales of Monkey Island

Does anybody have the Steam version of Tales of Monkey Island?

I want to know if you need to use the Steam client in order to play the game? I prefer not to use the steam client.

    I imagine just as with most if not all games purchased through Steam, you would need the Steam client to play the game.
