S1 Mac OS X: sometimes starts all pixelated and blinking fast

Just now, again, I'm trying to start it via Steam, and it does this weird big-block pixelating and blinking fast. I can hear sound, but it is impossible to play. What should I do? I tried to take a screenshot with Command-Option-3, but it won't work, only a black screen without the weird artifacts.

You can try switching the game to windowed mode by pressing Command + F.
You can also try if disabling Automatic Graphics Switching helps preventing it.
Command + F worked! I wonder why this happens at start?
