Help with Save file Transfer

Help! I have both season 1 (plus 400 days) and 2 on steam. In season 1, i had many issues with the "choices" not transferring from episode to episode. From reading forums, i found a solution in playing with the prefs.prop file(s) that would transfer my choices, but the main menu would still act like i was on episode 2 of season 1. Now, Season 2 sees my save files, but alas, it also thinks that i have only finished episode 2 of season 1 and "filled in" the rest of season 1 for me. Is there any way to rectify this problem officially?

There's a lot to do, and I hope it helps.

Please disable steam cloud for TWD (In Steam, right click TWD and select "properties". Open the tab "updates" and remove the checkbox from "Enable Steam cloud synchronization for TWD).

Then rename the prefs.prop files in the folders below to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate them
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead102
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead103
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead104
\Rexer\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead

Then move the prefs.prop from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead105
to
\Rexer\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead

No start season 1 and check if the stats of each episode are there.
It probably will only have progress up to episode 5, but that's better than 2.
