Season 2 not recognizing Season 1 save file

My friend just recently finished season 1 and liked it so much that he purchased the season pass for Season 2 and downloaded the first episode. He was just about to start it when the screen came up saying that it could not find his Season 1 save file, even though he completed the whole thing. (On EU PS3)

I'm just wondering how you can fix this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but he hasn't purchased the 400 days DLC. Would that maybe affect it?

    try starting a new game on s2 & see

    Can you please clarify if you have the EU version of one Season, and the US version of the other Season? This may be the cause of your issue, as games from different regions saves will not be compatible.

    They are both European versions.

    Did your friend possibly move the save files, or delete any game data files accidentally? Was your friend using an external storage device to hold the save files like a flash drive or external hard drive?
