(Spoiler Ep2)Does Bibgy have law enforcement status amongst the mundys?

My question is in the title. I'm confused about this. When being interviewed in the beginning of Episode 2 you have the choice to say you just want to get out there and capture the one that committed the murders, and the interviewer doesn't seem confused by this. I haven't read any of the comics.

    I too am unfamiliar with the comics, but I don't think the Mundies think he is a cop. He is Sherriff of a secret community, a community that doesn't exist to Mundies. It's normal for normal people to want to go tracking down a killer themselves if someone they loved was hurt or killed.
