Episode Two: hit and miss?

edited February 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

I'm feeling very confused in my opinion of episode two. While I thought all the scenes, choices, writing and acting was top notch, it just felt a little....disjointed. It didn't flow like Episode One did, it felt clunky and as much as I feel ridiculous saying it (four months), a bit rushed.

I thought the dialogues weren't as developed as Episode One, and funnily enough the Episode was only an hour and a half. The short length doesn't bother me on its own; it's the extra half hour that could have fleshed everything out much better that did.

I did enjoy the Episode. I am blown away by the amount of control they gave us in this one. The interrogation and the scene with Georgie were pretty much totally up to the player and I can see my choices in this Episode resonating for a long time to come. That final scene was terrific!

I'm not worried about the season because I felt exactly like this after Episode Three of the first Walking Dead season. I don't have any real worries for Episode Three writing and story wise, though for technical issues worries there's a whole other thread.

I just feel that a lack of development kept this Episode from being great. It certainly did top Episode One in some aspects, just not consistently.

  • I agree. I'm hoping that this is the extent of the damage caused by whatever production issues they had. Hopefully this episode took the brunt of the effect, and from now on the story will proceed smoothly and each episode will be given its due.

This episode is decent and serves its purpose, but it's not up to the quality of Episode 1.

  • I missed the little details from Episode One like the radio broadcast, walking around the scenes. The tarot cards don't count as they were carried over from Ep1. Such a shame.
