Can someone explain the Ginger Guy Theory?

So I never saw the original post about the Ginger Guy and I was wondering if someone could explain the theory that people came up with, I see bits here and there, does someone have the complete theory?

I am aware the thought is that that ep 2 is changed due to this, but I was interested in what the theory was.

There isn´t a definite single theory about him. Some people just thought he is the killer. He was in 3 scenes in episode 1 (in the apartment complex, in front of crane´s office and in the dee chase scene). And some people thought he was the taxi driver in several more scenes (which is debatable). Since snow was last seen in the taxi before she "died" the theory was that the ginger guy killed her. But all this got debunked in episode 2. He might still be the taxi driver and he definately has a key part in the story, but the initial theory just doesn´t work anymore.

I personally think he is the crooked man.
1. He has a tie with crooks on them

2. After visiting Lawrence apartment you are chasing Dee. Dee and Dum are working for the crooked man. Dee runs into an apartment building where nobody is living in anymore. He runs past the ginger guy and knocks him over. I always thought the scene was weird. It seemed kinda random that he is in that building. So my guess is that Dee was hired to steal something which belonged to Faith from Lawrence apartment and then meet the crooked man / ginger guy in the empty house to give him the item. So while being chased, Dee runs past the guy and gives him the item he just stole from the apartment.
