The more I play the angrier I get

After whatever on Telltale's end screwed up my saves, playing through the episodes again are pissing me off. Episode 1 is still good and the overall mystery is good, but it's rapidly going down in quality, especially with Episode 2 and I'm displeased by the lies we were dealt in the trailer.

Upon repeated playthroughs, you see how little your choices matter other than simple flavor text and that's the fundamental issue I'm having. You get the same information out of Dee/Woodsman whether you're nice or violent. You start to see plot inconsistencies and characters acting stupid and jumping to their high and mighty self-righteous conclusions (Snow's return) and you have no way of fixing it despite how easy it would be. Most of that stems from the developers using the same lines no matter what choice you make.

The final portion of Episode 2 with Beauty is a true indication of this. No matter what you can't avoid the fight with Beast and it was extremely obvious what would happen when Beauty decided on her own to go up with you. Anything other than lying for Beauty make her act indignant and upset with you even if you stayed out of it or flat out told her that you wouldn't lie on her behalf. And then she asks you do it again in the police report all because she's a little embarrassed about her job. She was completely unnecessary in the crime scene investigation and should not have been there. She and Beast should have both waited outside. She does less than nothing to help inside the room either. Beast would have been a much better companion in this situation because he would listen and be attentive. His strength and personality might actually come in handy. It's funny to think about if they became buddy-cops after that scene.

Beauty also had no real reason to tell you she was going to her job in Episode 1. In fact, that's all she had to say and Bigby wouldn't have given it a second thought. How did she think going out late at night to her job for, I assume, hours at a time possibly slip by Beast? How could she think that hiding behind the tree rather than greeting Bigby like a normal person could possibly be a good idea? The point is the writers couldn't think of a better way to overhype the situation and make a moment as suspicious as possible. But once you look at it logically, it loses the mystery and magic and reveals it for what it was. Dumb.

There are far more, but I don't have it in me to pick over everything, but I wish Plinkett would do a review of this because it's filled with this crap that makes no sense or has most people coming off as a bunch of assholes. Toad giving you all sorts of lip even when he's caused more trouble for himself by being an idiot. Heck, even Gren gave it a rest when you meet him. I actually respected him a bit after the second bar scene.

Other little things start to matter in greater context like how did Snow recover the body? How could she be so angry with Bigby when she doesn't have all the information? How did she think that the murder victim was after her when she didn't even see the head yet? She recognized herself on clothes alone despite the disfigurement? She acted very surprised when examining the body's glamour when she should have seen it already. In fact, that scene in the hallway was so confusing with "who" should know "what" at this stage that I actually thought Snow was an imposter or referring to Faith looking like her even though Faith looks nothing like Snow. I mean, how could she even think that the 2nd victim looked like her when she didn't see the head? Other people probably have those same clothes I'm sure.

TL;DR This is not as good as the Walking Dead and I'm rapidly getting upset at how little your actions actually matter. I probably won't buy another Telltale game in the future.
