White screen and crash
Now that episode 2 has been out for a while I've tried playing it numerous times. However I keep running into the same issue where the screen turns white while the sound keeps on playing.
First time it happened was right after the recap cutscene, the screen turned white, the sound kept playing and when I pressed escape the game crashed. so I verified the integrety of the game cache (I'm playing the Steam version). This got me to the first dialogue scene, but the issue persisted after the second choice. At this point I looked for other solutions online and found the dinput8.dll fix. My controller was plugged in but not active, nor did I intend to use it for this game. So I unplugged it and downloaded the latest graphics driver just in case. That fix got me far enough to finish the prologue, so I was able to see the second opening credits. But then it again turned to a white screen right as the camera pans across the sleeping guard. But no when I press escape the menu apparantly opens normaly, because I can hear the options being highlighted as I move my mouse around. Alt-tabbing in and out merely turns the screen black. At this point I deleted the whole game and reïnstalled it and again verified the integrety of the game cache. But to no avail.
I'm playing on a laptop that meets the recommended specs:
- OS: Windows 7 x64
- CPU: Intel Core i7 2630QM @ 2.0GHz
- GPU: NVIDEA GeForce GT 555M @ 2GB
- RAM: 6GB
I've run out of ideas to fix this, so please help me out here.

This may be related to a display issue. My first suggestion would be to change the game to Windowed Mode after launching the game. To do this, after you launch the game press ALT+Enter to change to Windowed Mode. Once at the Main Menu, you can change the resolution in the Options menu, and then switch back to Full Screen using the same shortcut.
If this does not resolve your issue, please read this Sticky on how to run our Support Tool, and follow the steps to run the tool, and reply to this email with the download link copied and pasted into this reply. You can find the Sticky here:

I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing, after receiving the information from your support tool, we will be able to assist you further.
I tried switching to windowed mode and changing the resolution, it didn't work. It straight up crashed again with the error message popping up saying the .exe file stoped working.

I've noticed your integrated graphics card's drivers haven't been updated for a while. Please update your drivers to the latest version, and relaunch the game. Please note that our game is not recommended for Intel integrated graphics cards. If you have another graphics card on your system, please read This Article that may go into more detail on how to make sure you are running your more powerful graphics card, and at optimum levels.
Please note, your processor is also at the minimum of our system requirements at 2.0GHz. I recommend that when playing the game, you do not have any other programs or applications open at the same time, to make sure all of the processors power is directed towards running the game. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope you are able to play our game.
I was well aware of the integrated intel graphics driver incompatability, I have had my default graphics driver set to the latest NVIDEA driver available for my card for quite a while now.
Also, I was able to play episode 1 without a hitch, so I don't see why my system should pose a problem now. Regardless, I did close all other processes, so I was jrunning just Steam and the game. It wouldn't even continue from my savegame.
I recommend either 'Running as an Administrator' or launching in a Compatibility Mode (we recommend Windows 98/ME) and see if you are able to run the game successfully through one of those modes.
I'm already running in Administrator Mode. Also, I figured out that with starting on a new save file, there are no problems. Of course, with your whole choice and effect system this is kind of a problem.
Are you able to start a new playthrough on a different save slot, and resolve the issue?
