Not Drawing Characters on Mac

HI there,

Having a strange problem with Season 1. I've got it installed on my 2013 Mac Mini with Mavericks, and for some reason the game is drawing everything except the characters when I start a game.

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling from Steam to no effect.

Am I missing something? Cheers!

I apologize for the inconvenience. Below are a few possible solutions:

    1) Restart your system

    2) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse)

    3) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)

    4) Run the game as admin

    5) Run the game in compatibility mode (We recommend Windows 98/ME)

    6) Reinstall the game

    7) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)

If this does not resolve your issue, please read this Sticky on how to run our Support Tool, and follow the steps to run the tool, and reply to this email with the download link copied and pasted into this reply. You can find the Sticky here:

  • Hi Mike,

I've tried all of your options and I've come up with this. Steam states that 1 file fails to verify and will be reacquired - which it then downloads, fails to verify again, downloads it again, and loops over and over. This occurs even after a system restart.

I've run the Support Tool and my zip is at the URL below

    Thanks!

After looking over your Support Tool, your system should be able to run the game successfully. Can you please clarify exactly what the error message says? What is the name of the file that you are unable to receive?

  • Hey Mike,

It doesn't specify which file is causing the error. All I get is this:

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/kobj7d

Which, after I follow the prompts to download the file in question results in this happening:

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/xd57rj

So, from my end, it looks like Steam is trying to grab whatever file is required but, just... doesn't.

    Very strange!

I recommend uninstalling the game again, and make sure that you have located and deleted any and all files associated with The Walking Dead from your computer. Then reinstall a fresh version of it on Steam. Also, can you please clarify if you have any other Telltale Games on your computer that you have downloaded and installed either from Steam, or from our website that may be conflicting with the game? Do you possibly have any anti-virus or internet firewall programs active that may be blocking the complete download and installation of the game?

My last suggestion would be to uninstall the game, and make sure all files associated with the game are deleted, then uninstall and reinstall Steam on your computer, and try again. If you are still unable to get the game to run successfully, I would recommend contacting Steam Support, as it may be a Steam issue. I apologize for any difficulties this has caused, and I hope one of these suggestions are able to help you play the game.
