Episode 2 crashes immediately on iPad mini?

I got all the way through episode one on my iPad mini without any crashes. I've recently bought episode 2, but whenever I try to start it it loads for about 10 seconds then crashes. I've tried restarting the app, closing everything else, and restarting my iPad with no results. Is anyone else having this issue? Are any updates planned to fix this?

Please make sure your The Wolf Among Us application is updated to the latest version. (Version 1.2) Then close all background applications, and turn your device off for at least three minutes. This will allow the device's cache to clear. Then after restarting the device, launch the game application, and you should be able to start the Episode. If this does not resolve the issue, can you please clarify what iOS version you are currently running on your iPad Mini?

  • I'm having the same problem as the user who posted, and nothing changed.... at first. I tried what you (TelltaleMike) posted and after trying again a second time it worked, although with the VERY choppy frame rate I also experienced in Episode 1 making the final act VERY nearly unplayable, and I could not make the choices so crucial to the Telltale experience, I was forced into them because of my frame rate. I had figured that these issues would be fixed by episode 2 and am disappointed in seeing them not, considering I have the season pass.

Apologies for the difficulties you are experiencing. Can you please clarify which iOS device you are playing on? There may be an easy fix that will help performance on most iOS devices.

Please close the game and all other applications running in the background. This should free up necessary system resources. (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them) Also, please turn off your iOS device for at least three minutes before attempting to play the game again. This will allow the device’s cache to clear. This will clear up most bad performance on iOS devices.

Thank you for the quick reply,

I am also on iPad Mini with iOS 7 with TWAU 1.2.

I looked at another post as well and have already followed your new instructions prior to posting (so this remains unresolved).

If all of your applications in the background are closed, and you are on the latest iOS version, my last suggestion would be to turn your device off and back on again, and start the application from a fresh boot. If this does not resolve the issue, I recommend deleting, and re-downloading the game application, and then turn the device off and on before attempting to play it. Then start the application from a fresh reboot.
