GUIDE: Transfer save files from one computer to another

Notes: Make sure you have a fresh install of both The Walking Dead: Season One, and The Walking Dead: Season Two on the PC you want to transfer to, with no old save files already there. Run both games once to the main menu, this will create the required folders, but don't launch a episode. Just let the game boot, get to the main menu, and quit. This has only been tested on Windows, I have no experience of doing this on a Mac. If you have a method for a Mac, please share.

For The Walking Dead: Season One, (complete season should have 75 save files including 400 Days):

  1. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Document\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
  2. Copy all files within this folder named save_1.save, save_2.save etc, prefs.prop, and put them on a USB Flash Drive.
  3. Open the USB Flash Drive on your other PC, and drop the files into the same destination folder you copied them from.

For The Walking Dead: Season Two:

  1. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Document\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead Season Two
  2. There are a lot of files in there, and you want to copy all of them, and put them on a USB Flash Drive.
  3. Open the USB Flash Drive on your other PC, and drop the files into the same destination folder you copied them from.

If you are adventurous and want to test on a Mac, the save files should be located at:

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/The Walking Dead/
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/The Walking Dead Season Two/
