Episode 2 "coming soon" on iOS

I pre-ordered this game on iOS back in December. I discovered that episode 2 was out, so went to download it. Yet on the iOS version, it still says "coming soon". I tried turning my iPad off, waiting 3 minutes, and it didn't work - and in any case, it had been off for days before I tried this. I tried deleting TWD2, redownloading and seeing i that would work - nothing. The game's opener informs me that it is available for purchase in-app, as does the App Store, but I am unable to do so in "Play", "Episodes" or "Manage Downloads".

This is really rather terrible. Could the Telltale Team tell me how to fix this problem, or could they direct me on how to get a refund? Either would be fine at this point.

  • Having the same exact problem, its so frustrating! I even tried re-downloading the game and now my save file for first episode is gone..

    I apologize for the inconvenience. Please close the game and all other applications running in the background. This should free up necessary system resources. (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them) Also, please turn off your iOS device for at least three minutes before attempting to play the game again. This will allow the device’s cache to clear.

    Then after restarting your device, I recommend resetting your WiFi connection from On, to Off, and then back On again. After doing this, please make sure both of the game applications are updated to the latest version from within the App Store app, by opening it, and going to the Updates tab on the bottom right. If they say Update next to them, please update them. After making sure they are on the most up to date version, please start the game application while connected to the internet, and it should update to show the second episode as available.

    Can you please clarify if you purchased the game from within the game application itself, or through our website? If you pre-ordered the game through our website, or another third party retail website, it was for the PC/Mac version of the game on our website. The Episodes from the iOS version of the game can be purchased from within the game application itself.
