Strong Sad insults?

edited November 2008 in Strong Bad Hints
I have like six. How do I get them all?

I've only got five, so you're already better off than I am...I'm hoping that the fact I'm now in extended play won't stop me from getting the others.

Edit: I've now got 6. The only one I know for sure is to
use the plastic sword on Strong Sad.
  • edited September 2008
I've already done that. Are there any others you know about? Anyone?
  • edited September 2008
    I have 8.
  • edited September 2008
I got 12 out of 13. Tried darn near anything but still got one left .
Anyway, I recommend going through any dialogue option and showing him any item you come across. Here are a few specifics (although I don't remember all of them)
Show him the pillow near the beginning, Show him all of the 4 Homsar relics when he's at the Homsar reservation, Talk to him when he's at Marzistan, talk to him after you've beaten the game...

    Can't remember more, sorry.

Crap. With your thing, I'll have to play the game all over again!!

Not Neccessarily... I have 11/13 insults and there is at least 3 things mentioned above that I did not do during normal game play. I have a funny suspicion that it still may be possible...

    One I found was
try to give the flight wings to Sad before you give them to the Cheat.

    That counts as 1?

    I think it did.

I just replayed the game, and I got 10 Strong Sad insults. Among the things I did were
making him open the door while I looked out the window, having every possible conversation with him in his room while under house arrest, having every possible conversation with him in his room after the secession, having every possible conversation with him while at the reservation, talking to him while in Marzistar, having every possible conversation with him in the King of Town's castle, presenting the pillow while in his room, presenting the fake sword while in his room, presenting the pilotwings while in his room, and presenting four Homsar artifacts while at the reservation.
Not sure which of these was a specific trigger, but it should help...hopefully.

Bout half way through the game again and already up to 11, probley will get all 13 by the end of it (still got the entire strong bad the king and extended play stuff)

Key is to listen for strong bad to literally call strong sad a name, make sure u see all of the conversations that u can just from talking to strong sad and i can confirm the following do count.
Showing him the pillow while on house arrest
Showing him the wings before giving it to the cheat
Showing him the tuning fork (i think its either that or the trapper keeper) while hes with u at the homsar territory
  • edited September 2008
anyone tried to email him from the kots
  • edited September 2008
    I forgot the
    pilot wings
bit. That was one that I also got on the second playthrough. The one with
    The Door
I haven't seen though. Have to try that, although that means I'll have to start a new game all over again.

I'm going to start a new game once I get home later today and try to pinpoint every name. I'll post them here if no one beats me to the punch.

I think this is about my only problem with parts of these games; the point-of-no-return bits where you can't get 100% completion because you didn't do an obscure thing at a certain point. That's about my only criticism of these games, I'd say...
  • edited September 2008
    One I haven't seen mentioned:
look at the shower in the bathroom

And yes, you have to get all of Strong Sad's nicknames on your first playthrough; you can't go back in extended play to pick up ones you missed. For what it's worth, I normally hate that in videogames, but in this case there were topics of conversation with Strong Sad that it just didn't make sense to go back and repeat later in the story.

Played through again last night, still missing one insult. (this is getting aggravating, has no one found all 13 yet?)

P.S. yes, there is one in extended play mode
just talk to strong sad in his room

I'm going to replay the game to get all the insults. (Not that you care)

    Here's a full list. I have all 13.
I did five things at the start of the game, and got credit for 4 insults.
1 - Click on the invisible fence as you look out the window.
    2 - Look at Strong Sad's Shower
    3 - Look at Strong Sad's Bed
4 - Give Pillow to Strong Sad
5 - Go through all the conversation options with Strong Sad

5-7 - Go through all convo options with Strong Sad at Bleak House
8 - Show Pilotwings Medal to Strong Sad before giving it to The Cheat
    - Use the Fake Sword on Strong Sad at Bleak House
9 - Talk to Strong Sad after Surrender
10 - Show Strong Sad the Tuning Fork when you are at Homesar's Reservation.
11 - Show Strong Sad the Fake Sword at Homesar's Reservation.
12 - Talk to Strong Sad at Homestar's House.
13 - Talk to Strong Sad in Extended Mode

    I hope that helps.

Added Note - Thanks Cyberlink420, I edited my list to show that. There are still two extra points in my list though.

    It was
    during extended play

    And yes, using
    the fake sword
on him DOES work; I've checked to make sure.

    Let's be more precise:
    1. Look at shower: "Obsessio Depressio"
    2. Talk to Strong Sad for the first time: "little lord FATleroy"
    3. Talk to Strong Sad about the fence twice: "Dumplo"
    4. Show Pillow to Strong Sad: "Dumplestiltskin"
    5. Talk to Strong Sad about Strong Badian flag once before conquering Bleak House: "Doo-doo-ronemy"
    6. Talk to Strong Sad about Strong Badian flag twice before conquering Bleak House / Use Pilot Wings on Strong Sad: "Your Dump(i)ness"
    7. Talk to Strong Sad about Bleak House flag before conquering Bleak House: "Your grayness"
    8. Use fake sword on Strong Sad at Bleak House: "Sir Dumpsalot"
    9. Talk to Strong Sad about Strong Badian flag after conquering Bleak House: "Lumpy"
    10. Use fake sword on Strong Sad at Homsar Reservation: "Dumpenheimer"
    11. Use tuning fork on Strong Sad at Homsar Reservation: "Dr. Dumpington"
    12. Talk to Strong Sad in Marzistar: "Dump-tenant"
    13. Talk to Strong Sad in Bleak House in Extended Play mode: "Dumpling"

Well, I guess someone beat me to it. Just finished cataloging all insults plus other collectibles. Turned out it was the second use of the fake sword that eluded me. Never would have thought of that, sneaky telltale game designers:p.

Anyway, yay for 100% completion and obsessive compulsiveness!

It's entirely possible you're not paying much attention, seeing as how I gave exact instructions for all 13 just two posts above you.

meh, i won't go for full awesomeness this time around, if i have to play through again
  • edited September 2008
ohh, i missed the one with
the fake sword in the reservation
    .
it's quite easy to overlook, when you do the pom pom area before the reservation...meh

...what is far worse, is that i found all flags in my first playthrough and in the second can't find two of them anymore.:o
  • edited September 2008
Well, then, let's list the flags too for good measure (though there's already another thread for it).
    1. Strong Badia - Click on the Brick Wall
    2. The Cheat and Tirerea - Click on the Tire after annexing The Cheat and Tirerea
    3. Bub's Concessionstantinople - Click on the Bush next to the Black Market
    4. Bleak House - Click on the box in Strong Sad's room
    5. Pompomerania - Order Bull Honkey twice
    6. Country - Dig it up right under the spot you arrive in
    7. Homsar Reservation - Click on the mysterious bush
    8. Marzistar - Dig it up next to the onion patch
  • edited September 2008
The mysterious bush can be set on fire and you still get the flag.

why are we talking about flags here? are we just afraid to let this thread stop?

So wait, I have to go through this entire game all over again, getting everything for a second time, just to get 100%?
