The queen of hearts would be my guess.
Thanks for the feedback. Does the queen have an evil back story or motive? Maybe she could be a driving force behind all that's happening.
I don't know about the fables comics but in Alice in Wonderland she would demand that people get their heads cut off when she was angry so it seems to fit in with the story.
Sounds like a coincidence or a revealing truth when Mary said that.
It's a play on the expression "The king is dead; long live the king." She was ironically referring to Snow, who was more or less established as Crane's successor in the preceding scene.
Oh. That's makes sense now too. I guess I was thinking too much into it lol.
