Minor plothole in crane´s apartment?

edited April 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

When you get to the apartment the door is already open. Who opened the door? The obvious answer would be Jack, since he is inside. But that doesn´t really make any sense...
Jack is inside crane´s bedroom. The door to the bedroom is closed.
Did Jack climb through the window inside? o_O
But why would he be able to pick the front door and then fail to just pick the bedroom door?
I don´t really get how this would make sense...

  • I think he came in through the front door and then thought about escaping through the window since he may of had suspicions of someone being in there. Wouldn't call it a plothole at all really.

  • He probably heard you coming, so he went into the bed room, closed it and tried to escape through the window (with out much success). Bigby is not always the quietest, he woke up a drugged troll.

  • I thought it was bigger plothole that he tried to escape trough penthouse window of like 14th floor or something?

  • i dunno he's a fable he would probably survive a fall like that :P

  • If Jack picked the apartment lock and ended up in the bedroom, that suggests the bedroom was likely unlocked when Jack first arrived. Since Jack had things like candlesticks and (if I recall) silverware, he was obviously in the dining room area. Who keeps silverware in their bedroom? Jack likely locked the door from the inside which forces you to either use the key or kick the door in. So not really a plothole although not really explained too well. As to why Jack was going out the window, maybe he was going out to a fire escape. All high rise buildings have them. Granted, I saw no frame work suggesting there was one at that particular window. Maybe he was going to climb down some duct work along the exterior of the building or perhaps he had a grappling hook and rope already setup so he could climb up/down ... except he had no climbing gear on to suggest such. Maybe he got one of the rigs that painters and window cleaners use on high rise buildings?

  • I just thought he would jump to the other platform (by the TV) and wait for Bigby to leave. I found it interesting that Crane had a headless horseman statute in his apartment. I was thinking some of the stuff was planted there but it does not seem that way as I played on.

  • He climbed a beanstalk into the cloud kingdom. I think he can handle a building sojourn.

I haven't played all the options yet, so if you're with Bluebeard at the time, I'll realise that when I do ;) Otherwise, Bluebeard opened the door. Bufkin tells us if you go there last that Bluebeard was there (we knew he was going) and burnt everything.

  • Really? I thought Dee and Dum had gone to his place or something, not only Jack through the window.

  • You missed his point. The plot hole is that the door to the bedroom was locked, with the key being in the living room.

  • I assume he entered the house, and he resumed he wouldn't take long, so he left the door open. Then he started robbing shit when he heard Bigby enter. He locked himself in the bedroom with a second key I guess, and then tried to escape out the windows, but Bigby beat him to it.
