Why do the achievements bear *no resemblance* to the actual events in-game?

Telltale, I understand that you have completely changed the story direction, but this kind of stuff is getting messy.

I'm by no means an expert on things like this but I'm pretty sure you would be able to change the achievements from that steam list, because as it stands they make no sense.

An example from episode 3: 'What pretty eyes you have', with a picture of Nerissa without eyes, is unlocked when you decide which of the three locations to visit first.

I mean, how is that remotely relevant?

  • On the connected note, I am convinced some achievements were assigned mistakedly. E.g. "Severe case of lycantrophy', achieved after the scene with AG tree, would connect rather nicely with the fight at the end of chapter.

  • It's time for Stupidly OverAnalytical Achievement Title/Picture Analysis!

    Episode 1
"Welcome to Fabletown" - picture of axe in Woody's head - unlocked after chapter where this happens - yup, this works
"Wolf in Sheriff's Clothing" - picture of Beauty - unlocked after chapter where you first meet Beauty, sneaking out - yup, this works
"The Long Goodbye" - picture of Bigby looking out through some blinds - unlocked after chapter where you work out who Faith was - kinda a "goodbye" I suppose.
"The Frog or the Prince?" - picture of Lawrence and Faith - unlocked after chapter where you choose between visiting Lawrence or Toad first - yup, this works
"Panic in the Parlours" - picture of Toad and TJ - unlocked after chapter where you actually visit Lawrence/Toad, and chase Dee through those rooms - yup, this works
"A Light Snowfall" - picture of Snow - unlocked after chapter where "Snow" 'falls' ...because she's dead, LOL gettit? - yup, this works

    Episode 2
"Right to an Attorney" - picture of a police hat - unlocked after chapter where you are interrogated by the police - yup, this works
"Breaking Point" - picture of Woodsman and Tweedle Dee - unlocked after chapter where you try to 'break' Woodsman/Tweedle Dee in their interrogation - yup, this works
"Sisters" - picture of Holly and her sister Lily - unlocked after chapter where you find Lily's body - yup, this works
"Made Them Cry" - picture of Georgie - unlocked after chapter where you meet Georgie. Title is from his rhyme - yup, this works
"Can I Get a Fresh Set of Towels?" - picture of ??? - unlocked after chapter where you investigate the hotel. - Title makes sense, can't tell who the woman in the picture is though. Looks like Holly?
"No Respect for the Dead" - picture of Bigby at the hotel with hearts - unlocked after chapter where you find where Lily was horribly murdered, and how Crane was using Lily to re-enact Snow's death scene and other perversions - yup, this works

    Episode 3
"Promising Leads" - picture of Bigby leaving with some evidence (I think, it's hard to make out) - unlocked after chapter where Bigby takes the photo he found in the hotel and sets out for Crane- yup, this works
"Belly Full of Stones" - picture of Bigby with a bottle/at a bar? - unlocked after chapter where Bigby is taken down at Lily's funeral - yup. The title references Bigby's previous defeat to the Woodsman in the fable. As for the picture - maybe the funeral was originally at the bar? There was also a bottle on the altar anyway.
"What Big Eyes You Have" - picture of Nerissa - unlocked after chapter where you search Crane's stuff and argue with Bluebeard - nope, this makes no sense to me either
"Huff and Puff" - picture of cigarette pack - unlocked after chapter where you visit the apartment/bar/office - outside of Bigby's usual smoking habit I can't think of anything special here. Maybe referencing all the 'huffing and puffing' he's doing to persuade people to give him information in this chapter, or all the 'hot air' (i.e. BS) people are talking at him, all the running around he's doing from place to place?
"Severe Case of Lycanthropy"*** - picture of the wolf claw -* unlocked after visiting the witch - nope, this would fit better with the end of the episode. The achievement "What Big Eyes You Have" would fit better here, with Bigby having potentially threatened a little girl/grandmother as in the Red Riding Hood story.
    **"Enchanted Land of NYC"
    - picture of an apple - unlocked after catching Crane, turning wolf, fighting in an alley - nope, not really. This would fit better with the end of episode 2, or the previous chapter when visiting the witch. As already mentioned, the previous achievement would fit better here.

  • I assume that's because they intended Bigby to change in episode 3 but at a different point when it was the original story. I still don't udnerstand why they can't just change them though.

  • Holy crap the formatting on this forum sucks.

  • Also, "What Big Eyes You Have" would have worked for the end of the Auntie Greenleaf sequence seeing as how it involved a The Big Bad Wolf, a little girl, an old woman, and a disguise. The roles were just a little shuffled around.
