A Crooked Mile--So What Choices Did You Make?
Just recently finished A Crooked Mile--which was an outright brilliant episode--and got curious over the different choices that were offered and what people chose and why they made these decisions. So post what you did, elaborate why and of course respect each others opinion over respective choices made.
Here's mine:
I interrupted the eulogy. I play my Bigby as someone who deeply cares for Snow and is someone he couldn't stand to lose. My Bigby fell down into misery and anger when Snow was presumed dead and was bitter with Crane and beat the information out from Tweedle Dee back in Episode 2. I as well played Bigby as someone little paranoid after the previous event and learning of Crane's suspicious involvement with the hookers, he was afraid he or someone would sooner or later go after Snow when learning she was alive so I wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. Turns out I was partially right. Didn't take the deal since I wouldn't ultimately follow with it.
Didn't inform everyone of Crane. I myself was very certain Crane wasn't the killer since it felt too early in the game and couldn't picture Crane doing it. However, I tried to play as Bigby at first believing him to be the killer (out of emotion back in the hotel) to heavy suspicion back in the Business Office, ultimately to simply a possibly suspect. But for strange reasons the game had Bigby automatically believing Crane to be the killer. Don't know if it is b/c of the dialog I chose, but I don't remember directly saying he IS the killer.
Decided to go first to the Tweedle's office followed by the Trip Trap Bar. The Tweedle brother's involvement in these past episodes had me thinking they might now more on what is going on other than the clue to Crane's whereabouts. Really loved the interaction with the Flycatcher and his comments on the similarities with Bigby and the brothers. I had Bigby disclaim those facts and stated that he was misguided. Nice roleplaying opportunity and some small character development for me. Decided to go head next to the bar since I thought that was pointless and whatever Bluebeard found he would inform me later on. I had decided that Snow was just delusional with her believing Bluebeard was up to something earlier (though guess I was wrong). Went to the bar and cleared up with the Woodsman since previously we left off in a bad note (plus I didn't found his "affair" was of no concern to me).
Burned the tree at Greenleaf. This was a decision I almost immediately regretted and she had a point with people's desperation with the Glamour (and I found Snow's comment quite surprising, since I thought she wanted to change things and help those in real need). I at first considered to have her aid us. Wasn't aware Bigby would offer her a job, since I didn't want to "reward" someone after doing something as illegal she had done and Snow had a point when she brought up we should burn the tree b/c of she was cooperating (which I found would serve as a great threat). Greenleaf of course spits out the info she was hiding, to which I then decided to leave. But when it came down to the decision, offer her a job or burn the tree, I went with the latter. Shame there wasn't an option to arrest her instead.
Didn't kill Dum. I at first was inclined to do so, with the brothers continuous trouble making, threats, shooting and Bigby being in wolf form was a perfect opportunity to lose control (awesome scene by the way!). Ultimately I didn't, since what Flycatcher said stuck in my Bigby's head and with me playing as Bigby as someone wanting to "clean his past" I tried to show that not only is his past behind him but he is a better man than them and killing is not a justification. Really loved that moment when he goes from complete rage into misery and looks into Snow's direction and then gets shot in the back. Awesome.

Wait the Eulogy to end. Holly had been through enough shit with her missing sister going ignored, her bar being trashed, her sister's corpse being recovered and then tossed into the Witching Well so she can't have a proper funeral. Once it was done, basically tried being sympathetic to Holly and said Crane was the killer to give her hope. Told Snow, and she went back to the Funeral. Brokered a deal with the Tweedles just so they wouldn't shoot anybody up. I mean, this was a funeral that could've turned to shit in five seconds and I had no incentive to keep my end of the deal. It was the most idiotic thing to have them try to get a verbal agreement that didn't mean shit the moment they didn't guns to Bigby's back.
Went with Bigby initially blaming Crane until he adapted Snow's point of view. Because honestly that picture was entirely incriminating there in all regards, and searching around shows how bad Crane really was. Basically embezzled 'Tax Money' and made a prostitute take someone else's image because he was so desperate he couldn't have her in real life. Plus he was more than an ass. Wine and 'massages' VIVIAN set-up? You know, that blonde in the pink-sweater who works at the PUDDING N' PIE. He basically had Snow White set-up his own meeting with a look-alike hooker when he got frustrated with her. If that's not creepy, I don't know what is. Maybe his blatant racism towards Trolls and how he tossed Lily's body, EVIDENCE, into the Witching Well without anyone's consent and without a care.
Initially I went to Crane's Office because Bluebeard was more interested in that area, it was the nearest and would've saved time, and Bufkin attests that Crane left in a hurry so he likely left evidence behind. I also thought that Bluebeard would've potentially encountered the Tweedles or just not have been able to get as far as he did. But Flycatcher got hurt, Bigby got him a job, and then went to the Trip Trap. Basically apologizing to Holly as Bigby too.
I hired Aunty Greenleaf. Bigby put it best. The witches on the 13th floor will take of her so she doesn't do anything bad, this will be a heavy hit on the Black Market, but it will also help lower the prices on legal glamours and in-turn cripple the Black Market even further while helping citizens. Plus it offers a type of protection to Aunty Greenleaf in the event she gets targeted. Bufkin himself even attested Glamours weren't illegal if made off the 13th floor, just highly discouraged. Once she revealed Crane's plan, where he went, and his intentions then Greenleaf wasn't harboring a fugitive anymore and burning her livelihood and property seemed needlessly cruel, no matter how angry Snow was. Although due to her connections with bad people that would go after her, leaving her alone probably meant she was going to start helping the bad guys again, or get herself killed. So this was the best option to go for.
After punching Crane in the nose, I chose not to kill the Tweedle. If merely because the Tweedles feel like they're being forced into this as much as anyone else. Crane, Aunty Greenleaf, the Tweedles. They're small fry compared to Bloody Mary, the Crooked Man, and whoever this Butcher turns out to be.
Sorry for the asshole act, but, I'm not an english-native speaker and writing a text in English wouldn't end up that good, so I decided to upload my choices screen. Here it is:
(put the spoiler alert so the images wouldn't use the whole screen)
I waited until Snow finished the eulogy. I have standards, even in video games and one of them is avoid disrupting a funeral if it can be helped.
I admitted Crane was a suspect, mostly to keep the public informed.
I went to Crane's Office first, mostly because I felt there would be more evidence there. I then went to the Tweedles' Office because I didn't want to cause more trouble for Holly. And told Flycatcher to talk to Snow for a job. I figure he was fired because of the embezzlement and Snow would hire him back to make things right.
I chose not to burn Aunty Greenleaf's tree and instead hired her for the Thirteenth Floor. I figured that it was a nice middle ground, Aunty Greenleaf gets to keep her tree, but now she is regulated and off the streets.
I didn't kill Dum. Small fish working for much bigger fish.
I let Snow complete her Eulogy. I didn't feel a need to interrupt her since the reason I rushed there was because she was in danger, and there Bigby was in her presence, so why interrupt and cause more of a scene.
I don't recall where specifically the "accuse Crane" stuff came into play, but having never truly considered him the murderer, I am sure none of my choices would out him as the prime suspect.
I went to Crane's first because I figured if there were clues about Crane's witch, that would make the most sense. I made the deal with Jack there. Then I went to the Tweedles' hoping Bluebeard would still be there (since that is where he went for me), but naturally he wasn't, and nothing happened in the scene aside from giving Flycatcher a job. Finally I went to Trip Trap and eventually played along with Holly that I was Woody.
I did not burn down the tree, but during the scene, I was possibly suspecting Crane as being glamoured as the little girl. Close, but no cigar. Snow seemed to be acting out of character for me, and since I am completely new to the Fable universe and got fooled by the fake death, I don't fully trust any character as being guaranteed to be the original.
I broke Crane's nose for fun and then killed Dum because I was sick of the Tweedles always causing chaos behind the scenes.
Looking at the player choices, killing/sparing Dum seemed to be the one aspect where the community was evenly split which meant it was the choice with the most weight behind it.
