Huge disappointment with the purchase of content - Problem installing episodes and lack of storage

I wish you a wonderful day to Telltale Games.

I want you first of all thank you for making such a great game in my favorite genres. I have the misfortune to have money to NEXTGEN console so I play only on my phone. My phone is Goclever Insignia 5X (Android 4.2.1, 1GB of RAM, CPU MTK Chipset QuadCore 1.5 GHz, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, free space in the phone memory 500 megabytes). I am therefore very pleased that you have decided to give The Walking Dead and the Android platform.

BUT.

Today I discovered a problem. Download episode 2 , for example , I play about 3-4 minutes and the game freezes . It can only be shut down using the HOME button (HARD ShutDown) on and off in the application menu . First I tried the whole course first episode , which went without any problems . That's why I bought the other . But let's go back to the problem . When I turn off the game incorrectly and run it again , so Episode 2 is not installed . But the phone : Settings - Applications - The Walking Dead heading DATA is full of more than 300 MB, it means I can not episode 2 download and install again , because there is no place like while in the game , this episode face as if the data in your phone were not . What should I do ? Minded , because I thought after finish the first episode that you have an application tuned and functional . Please answer me if you leave a game I purchased and fix these errors , or should I ask my money back from Google Play . If I ask for your money back , ask how.

Thank you in advance for your reply and I hope you 'll be able to play this great game even on your device .

I apologize for the inconvenience. Currently, there is no way to set our game to externally download content, and therefore the application can only store internally. If you would like a refund for the game, please contact Google Play Support, and they will be able to assist you with your request.

  • Why would you add login access before using such as telltale account or google+ account for verifying IAP on another episode. I also warry about this issue such as if I will change android device, I might purchase them again and again? OMG!!!

As long as you are logged into the same account that you purchased the app with, you will be able to download the game to another Android device, and you will not be charged again.

  • I have a similar issue, and I was wondering if there was a way to fix it. I purchased and downloaded episode two, but when I try to play the game, it acts as if it is not downloaded and I still have to "get" (not purchase) the episode. It then remains at 0% downloaded indefinately. I have plenty of free space for it, so that isnt the issue

I apologize for the inconvenience. Below are a few potential solutions:

    1) Make sure your OS is updated to the most recent version

    2) Force stop the application, and then relaunch it

    3) Turn off your device for a few minutes, before attempting to launch The Walking Dead again.

    4) Delete the application from your device, and re-download it from the App Store (Please note that this will delete your save data)

Android 4.2 should work, but your devices specifications would be more important. Can you clarify what device you are currently using?

After looking up your device's specifications, it seems that your GPU is below the minimum device requirements to run the game successfully. Unfortunately because of this, the game may not function properly. I apologize for any difficulties this may cause you. If you would like to inquire about a refund, please contact Google Play Support for further assistance.

  • So back to my problem. Episode 1 goes completely without a single problem . Episode 3 , 4 and 5 also function as expected , without a single problem. The game saves the position and loading works correctly . The game has no errors or crashes .

The problem is only 2 episodes and a bonus episode 400 days ... Episode 2 starts and can play until a decision whether to shoot or not shoot crows in a tree . By this time you can play Episode 2 , as soon as I decide what to do , so figure next to Lee do you recommend it and the game freezes ... just does not do anything , does not work . You can only disable forced off . Then when I come back into the game , so Episode 2 is not installed but the data in the internal phone storage will remain and take up space !
The same goes for episode 400 days ... Episode starts , I see the animation highway along which run cars , motel fast food , then skip the time and I see the present, the same desolate scenery to the moment when you got the bulletin board to which the missing Persons ... Once you choose the game will do the same thing in episode 2 when choosing to shoot or not shoot a crow ...

The internal phone storage even after I install these episodes are still available at least 150 megabytes Content I paid and obviously not a problem in my machine since episode 1, 3, 4, 5 go without problems.

    Android OS 4.2.1
    1 GB RAM DDR2

I apologize, it may be a save file issue. Please try starting Episode 2 on a different save slot, and see if you are then able to play through the episode. If you are not able to play the episode on the separate save slot, it may be an issue with your device.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please try turning off your device for 5-10 minutes to clear the device's cache, then turning it back on, and make sure that you have all other applications closed/force closed, and then start the game application, and see if you are able to start the second episode successfully.

  • Telltale plz you need to solve this internal download problems.. I'm using a tecno phantom a+ with just 1gb internal mem

  • TelltaleMikeTelltaleMike Former Telltale Staff

My apologies, unfortunately the game application was designed to install to the internal memory. If you have insufficient space for all of the episodes, I recommend downloading Episode 2, and playing through, then when you are finished with the second episode, delete it, and install Episode 3. (This will not delete your game saves, as they are stored within the base game application (Episode 1)

  • Thread: External SD card support

A lot of Android users with limited internal storage 8GB or 16GB can't enjoy this game even if they have free External space available because TWD unlike other Android games such as the Bard's Tale or the upcoming Assassin's Creed identity doesn't support storing/moving the data folder to the External SD card where most of us start with at-least 64GB! so please when will you add support for it?

  • edited January 2015

That's not true. I can't download it again. I refuse to repurchase it because I've seen several people, who you recommended that course of action to, end up being charged for it. I don't think your system works like you think it does. Repurchasing doesn't work because you get charged again. We shouldn't be charged every time we uninstall and reinstall. Telltale needs to look into this ASAP.

As long as you are logged into the same account that you purchased the app with, you will be able to download the game to another Android device, and you will not be charged again.

  • Or at the very least, they need to make it possible to redownload if we uninstall it. As it is, I can't get my game back because I uninstalled it, due to limited storage space.
