King Cole

Im just gonna go out and say it 'Old King Cole was a MERRY old soul'....
I think king cole is the crooked man...
Barley anyone mentions him, its not mentioned really where he went, TJ said he heard laughing which i guess doesn't really say much but 'Merry old soul' i just made the connection. and plus he's the only character we haven't seen in the book of fables yet who has been mentioned...

  • He's in the comics, so no.

Ughh.. I hate when people bring up the comics. It's honestly kind of spoilery for people that have only played the game.

  • Nah, nah. Cole's too jolly to be the Crooked Man, he's like, the Colonel Sanders or the Santa Claus of the Fables universe! :)
  • Seeing him makes me crave extra crispy chicken. :) Who knows...just because they are mentioned in the comics do not mean anything. :)

No, I'm sorry, King Cole really isn't the Crooked Man. As for spoilers, it's your own faults if you don't want to at least read up on the background of the setting and the key characters. The game you're playing is a prequel, like it or not, and people who have read the comics are as clueless about the murders as you are.
  • I'd hate to see you futilely speculate :(

  • The Crooked Man has his own Model
  • You should read the comics. But it's okay if you don't want to or don't have the money for it. And they don't spoil the game for me, they only help me narrow down the suspects. It still doesn't do much good, since a crap ton of the characters in the game are also made by Telltale, so I still have no clue who the killer could be despite having read every issue in the series. I think you're being a little hard on the readers, they only have good intentions. I usually put a spoiler warning whenever I post a comment regarding the comics in a specific way (Describing an issue in detail, for example), if that makes you feel any better. But yeah, I get that you'd be angry when people are constantly telling you,"No, they're in the comics." I would too, if I never read them.

  • Haha, he's not Santa. Santa is a Fable too. But he would be an amazing replacement Santa if the real one would ever to keel over.

  • Exactly. It's almost impossible not to bring in the facts we already know to be true from the main story. I have my suspicions but I'm still utterly clueless as to who could be the killer, aside from completely canon characters.

Yes, he technically isn't. But I can just imagine him acting like Santa though, that's what I meant to say! Or being on an ad for KFC.

  • Exactly. It's too bad he's a crap mayor and Snow is the real one running things. I'd rather her just take his place but that doesn't happen.

  • (sigh) Cole's livin' the good life. He must have gotten that sweet tv setup going on too, with the 500 plus channels.

I would much rather speculate than have someone tell me what happens in the future :)

All in all it just doesn't seem fair to the people who are just now getting into Fables through the game. A lot of people just want to play the game in of itself without having things spoiled by what has happened in the comics.

  • King Cole is his own character in the comics, and he looks nothing like the Crooked Man.
  • Oh, I totally understand why people bring up the comics. They're just trying to help. That being said, I really wish they wouldn't ;)

I'm really considering reading the comics after the game is completed. Definitely going to wait though.

  • Yeah, and the pool and the ballroom. I have a question: What issue (Or volume, if you prefer) are you up to? So I know your standpoint and what you know so I can't spoil too much for you?

'Storybook Love' is the most current volume that I've read up to. Someday I will get 'March of the Wooden Soldiers', possibly more!
