Wolverine and Bigby

edited May 2014 in The Wolf Among Us
Hey guys ,
////////////*********************SPOILERS ON COMICS**************//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I just wanted to express this opinion and share with you guys . I have realised this a long time ago but waited till now to express it . Bigby in my opinion could be wolverine himself . If they were to meet they would see that they are freaking soulmates.And not just that , their lives and current situations directly match.

Wolverine : Born with healing factor and rectractable bone claws , in one arc killed his own father protecting his step-father , raised in war and became a soldier , with kind heart . Then brainwashed and enhanced with adamantium and made into a killing machine. Managing to break through the mental chains after meeting professor xavier he began to try to find his lost past and his humanity . Trying to redeem himself he endlessly fights to protect the innocent and pure , while at the same time fighting his inner darkness because of the monstrosities they did to him .

Bigby : Born to the North Wind and his mother Winter he was the runt of his siblings and so called big bad wolf or bigby . His father left and when his mother died he stayed behind to protect his mothers body , to which he failed . Then confused and angry he left and after the events of red riding hood he vowed to only eat humans . After devouring entire armies and even a dragon he was a killing machine a massive wolf the size of a bus and unbelievable power . Blinded by anger and pain as he was he still saw some light in the form of the smell of snow and was thus "tamed" . After he spared her and showed her the way to the new world she came and helped him get human form so he could live in fable town . There he became a sheriff and now mature and full of regret he is trying to redeem himself and show that he is no monster or a killer , but a kind man who seeks justice and love.

What do you think guys ? They are composed of the same essence and even characters . They could literary swap roles and they would pretty much be in the same circumstances .

  • Yeah, they're very similar, that's for sure. They even look alike. Hugh Jackman could play him if they ever made a live action adaption of Fables

    Nah, I think Bigby would feel the same way about Wolverine as he does about werewolves. He has some pretty strong views on people who "pretend" to be animals without understanding what it means beyond simply excusing yourself from civility every now and then. Wolverine would definitely irk him, though probably not enough to start a fight. And Wolverine isn't one to start cuddling just because he runs into someone who vaguely resembles him either.

    Most likely, Bigby would be scathing if provoked, and Wolverine would back off, unwilling to risk a fight with a stronger predator just to be troublesome. I don't know about Hugh Jackman either, he's too pretty. His build is only accepted for Wolverine because Wolverine is a superhero with the ridiculous musculature that follows, while Bigby is drawn as realistically, functionally muscular and robust. And him playing both of them on the big screen would just lessen the awareness of them as separate characters. If you care about them at all in addition to being a fan of Jackman, that's not a good thing.

    You'll also find some contention on your ideas of how "tame" and "full of regret" Bigby actually is. Mostly, he just changed his behavior so he could spend more time with Snow. We've yet to see him express ANY personal guilt for the thousands of people he killed, and that's a big part of his character too. Unlike Wolverine, he's an actual animal at base. He doesn't think and feel exactly like a human would. Morality doesn't mean the same to him as it does to us.
