Finally an episode that isn't 90 minutes!

Since the premiere of TWDS2, every single episode of a Telltale series has hovered around the 90 minute mark, causing the community to lay waste to the forums over time with begs for longer episodes like the good days of TWDS1.

Well, after 5 months of 90 minute episodes Telltale has answered our prayers. This episode was NOT 90 minutes - repeat, NOT 90 minutes! Instead, Telltale has graced our screens with a 75 minute episode!!!!!! Thank you so much Telltale for answering our fan feedback throughout the course of the season and breaking your 90 minute rule. After all, that is the joy of episodic gaming - taking fan feedback into account and delivering an increasingly improving quality over the course of your development cycle.

BTW, hows your other projects going Telltale? When do we get more screenshots for Borderlands? When can I pre order the Season Pass? Now that you've broken the 90 minute rule, I've completely regained faith in all of your projects!

  • Sarcasm is strong with this one...

  • mostly form what i hear about the episode length for this one [ have not played it yet] is there is not enough action. huh from wwhat i remember this was a noire murder mystery. where oh i dunno characters motivations and solving the murder is more important then fighting people.

  • How many other games can you play where there is always something going on?
In many RPGs you waste 1/3 of the time running around and finding new quests. In many shooters there isn't any kind of story at all. In many RTS games you're just doing same things over and over until you learn the pattern.

TellTale has provided us with unique experiences that have great stories with memorable characters attached to them and that's the kind of stuff I'm going to remember when I grow old

I really did enjoy the episode, although what was there, save for a few particular scenes, wasn't nearly as good as the likes of episode 1. The episode lengths of TWDS1 were perfect - and I purchased the season pass for both this and TWD2 with the hope that Telltale would keep up the good work. WAU episode 1 was awesome - a 2 hour episode that had me thinking this series could potentially be even better than the beloved season 1 of TWD.

Now let me just state that I don't think an episode being 90 minutes makes it bad. A House Divided is a fine example of that - it's probably my favorite episode of TWD series so far. There's been a lot of talk of Borderlands and Game of Thrones taking away Telltale's development tools and making the quality of their episodes go down... until playing this episode I didn't believe that.

I really hope they knock it out of the park in the finale, because the quality of this series has seriously decreased since it's amazing debut. This company likes to brag about how episodic gaming allows fan feedback to come into play - and with this episode the exact OPPOSITE of what fans have been calling for is on display. I would like to think it's unrelated to development of Borderlands and Game of Thrones....but I don't really know what to think anymore.

Anyway, sincerely from a fan, the game is good. I enjoyed the episode. But it isn't near the quality that it had in the beginning.

  • Yes, I have to agree with you there. I was a bit bummed when I looked at the clock and saw that I had only played for an hour and a half.

BUT, I'm trying to keep my hopes high. Maybe the next Episode will be past 90 minutes and they had to take some time from this one to make that happen. Who knows, but yeah, I understand where you;re getting at.

But wouldn't the above be a good reason to cut this one short?
