Why didn't the majority do this?
I finished episode four a couple hours ago, i dunno if the stats have changed but in my opinion it shouldn't have been that way in the first place. I know the majority here is PC players and I played on PS3 first but i don't even know if the stats are different for each system
As i recall, only 39% of players refused to let Snow have Colin go to the farm. I know alot of people like Snow but she was pretty goddamn bitchy in this episode i have to admit, and Colin was defending Bigby.
Now i don't remember the exact percentage for this but the majority did not give Mr.Toad the money for his glamour. I know Toad can be quite a dick sometimes but to me he's very likable, or is this just because a good bit of players didn't have money to give him?
and as for the final choice, I understand what Snow said, but at this point who wasn't pissed at the Crooked Man? I really wanna hurt him the first chance i get, yet only 21% of players threatened him.
I'm not telling anyone to change their opinions but these choices to me make more sense, and i'm not hating- but care to explain why you chose to do this?
Comments
The first one, I couldn't understand that neither, why hurt Colin?
Second one, yes, I think many players didn't take the money or they were pissed that he refused it the first time.
To the third, 26% - I guess - lit a cigarette, which is IMO a much cooler way to piss of the Crooked Man.
I manage to chose everything that was opposite to most of the players. I too dont understand why people chose Snow over Colin (maybe they just wana be on her good side ). I really like Colin and wanted to spend more time him (if you read the comic you'll understand).
As for Colin? I stayed a loyal friend and I'm letting him stay.
I gave the money to Toad.
As for The Crooked Man choice? The scene is way more grade-A badass if you let Bigby smoke instead. It cuts to black just as he hits the lighter, just like the very first episode. Was my favourite part of the episode actually.
Thank you, picked all the same options except The Crooked Man. Sorry if this is too long.
My reasons:
1. Colin has been good to Bigby and stood up for him against Snow which yes she seems even more bitchy in this episode. Why the hell not he is one of the very few friends Bigby's got plus he's good at hiding himself so no real harm at least.
2. I did take Crane's money since I figured he wouldn't need it anymore and I'm glad I did, gave it to Toad since I couldnt take him away from his only family he has left.
3. I said I would bring back T.C.M alive only because for my Bigby he listens before taking action. Don't get me wrong- if it comes down to it I'll kill the S.O.B but I want to see what he has to say first.
4. One more thing, when Snow says she wants to do things by the book I said I'll try but really think it won't work at all. I mean trying to throw Colin & Toad to the Farm, uh no way sorry. Going 'straight as a arrow' isn't going to help anyone, maybe for herself but that's it.
I told Colin I would talk to Snow on his behalf. It's not quite going behind Snow's back... Snow and Bigby are a team, I trust they can reach an understanding.
I lit a cigarette. It feels like what Bigby would do, and puts him in control of the confrontation. He's not going to be rushed for anybody.
Yeah, Colin was defending me from Snow so I had his back. I agreed with everything he was saying and I didn't make him go to the farm. Snow didn't seem to understand that if Bigby went in with a "handicap" as Colin put it, he'd die.
As for Toad I gave him the money in a heartbeat. I went to the Butcher's first so I didn't run into him at the Pawn Shop, but giving him the money was a no-brainer. I've always liked him and seeing him make that little jump after getting the money made me laugh.
Now the final choice. I was extremely pissed at the Crooked Man. After discovering his little "operation" in the back of the Butcher's I decided that I'd kill him, Mary, and everyone else who knew what was going on which is, at this point, everyone in the room with him at the end. I didn't feel the need to threaten him because I was just going to eviserate him and everyone in his posse, so I lit a cigarette to psych myself up for it instead. And lighting the cigarette is extremely badass.
Hold up! You can actually give the money to Toad then and there? How do I do this? I specifically knicked the cash for just such an occasion.
You have to take the cash from Crane's coat.
Except he's not likable at all, which is why i didn't give him the money and sent him to the farm. I also hated that he stole Faith's cloak and didn't give it to Lawrence, who is alive in my playthrough.
More importantly, Bigby already warned Toad several times and like Bigby said, if he has money to buy a car, he can buy glamour.
Besides, the comics show that he eventually moves back to the farm anyway.
Snow saved Bigby while Colin was eating Chinese food. And the real Bigby sent Colin, Toad, and Toad Jr to the farm. Toad ends up regaining his prestige at the Farm (he dropped in rank from a ruler of a city to the owner of a shitty apartment). And remember that Dee threatened to kill his son, and word travels fast. The best option is to protect Toad's son by sending them to the Farm. Colin still will end up coming back to Bigby's apartment plenty of times. A smoke before blowing everyone away is the best ending though.
Snow is not a bitch just because she's in a position of power. Yeah yeah, I know you'll say that wahh poor colin but no, the rules are there for a reason, snow was clearly upset by what happened to bigby and she doesn't want more trouble. So she gives her opinion that they should be sent to the farm, perfectly legitimate even if I don't agree with it. You're just mad that she presents herself strongly and not in deference to your penis.
As for me, I tried to protect the unglamoured fables and I prepared to talk with the crooked man. As it was there were 3 other fables in the room, we were in the crooked lair with no idea how to get out (the door disappeared as we came in) so I decided it would be best to hear out what he had to say before beating his crooked head in and dragging him off to snow.
Agreed, that was definitely the most badass scene.
I suppose it would be the smarter thing to send them to the farm, but Colin had my back while Snow was giving me crap about killing Dum and was in support of me doing what I would need to do in order to stop TCM. And I've really warmed up to Toad since Episode 1, and I had some perfectly good money just sitting in my pocket going unspent, so I thought "what the heck, take it you little rascal." And yeah, having a smoke before throwing down is just awesome. Perfect for Bigby, I feel.
Hell yeah I helped Colin and Toad! I stuck up for Colin, and was bent on sending Toad to the farm, but I thought about it, and maybe I can somehow keep Toad inside at all times like Colin. So I let him slide.
As for the final conversation. I said we can talk, which was also a low percentage that I can't remember. Wasn't trying to be suave, I still need answers.
I didn't send Collin to the Farm since I liked that he understood that Bigby needs to at least have people be a bit afraid of him. Plus, after reading some of the comics, I know that Collin doesn't stay on the Farm anyway, so it was a bit pointless to send him off. I sort of regret helping Toad now since he would probably come looking for more money anytime he felt it was owed to him. But then again, I didn't like not using the money for some sort of half-decent purpose. I chose the cigarette since I figured threatening the Crooked Man in a room full of his cronies wouldn't have much of an effect on him.
Why did you kill Dum when it's Dee that gives you shit, and Dum is a bit kinder. You know that Toad Jr. can get killed if they stay at the apartment and Crane saw Toad tell you about the Tweedles, right? Toad will get over with being at the Farm, but wouldn't get over losing his only son, and he didn't have a son in his original story.
man I'm sorry but I had to stay loyal to colin(even though he c**k blocked bigby). I can't betray a smoking pig I just don't have it in me besides he stuck up and made some good points for bigby.
I killed Dum because I'd had enough of the Tweedles screwing me over. I would have killed Dee too if I'd been given the chance because those two were far more trouble than they were worth. They shot Bigby, Holly, and Gren during Lily's funeral so that's three counts of attempted murder. Then they showed up outside the Pudding and Pie to take Crane out of Fabletown custody and once again attempted to murder Bigby, the Sheriff of Fabletown. That's not even getting into the poking around at crime scenes and messing with things as well as, as you said, threatening to kill TJ in Episode 1. If they'd surrendered then Dum would be alive, but they kept shooting. I gave them plenty of chances to knock it off even before that point but they kept pushing me. I don't really regret it. As for Toad, it's his choice if he wants to go to the Farm. He knows the risks if he stays, but I doubt that the Tweedles (or, in my game, Tweedle) will go out of their way to exact revenge on a child when Bigby is closing in on their boss.
I didn't say the Tweedles would exact revenge, I said Bloody Mary. Bigby is the protector of Fabletown, and how would you protect Toad, knowing that Bloody Mary could have found out about him telling you that the Tweedles ransacked the apartment? The Farm has no reflective surfaces, while Toad's apartment does. Bloody Mary doesn't care if Bigby is after her boss, just like she didn't care if Dum died.
I let Colin stay because he is my bro! Yes, rules are rules, but I just cannot leave my friend. I chose friendship over the rules. I was really surprised when I saw the results too.
I also protected Toad. He was an asshole sometimes, I must admit. But when he said "don`t take from Junior the only home he knows", my heart was broken in pieces. Glamours are expensive and not all Fables can afford them. I will have to send Toad and his son to the Farm, but only if it goes too far.
And that choice with Crooked Man is now my record - when I played, only 19,7% agreed to talk with him. Meh. I just thought that always getting in a fight is fucking stupid. Conversations with villians, especially as awesome as Crooked Man, are always interesting. I really want to chat with him, maybe find out something about his motives or something about his band. But seems like polite people are in the minority here
im surprised that, no one did more of the cigarette..i thought it was epically insulting to the crooked man loool
I didn't have Colin or Toad sent to the Farm, I felt that dealing with the Crooked Man and the murders were more important right now than having Fables sent to the Farm, and we would go round to deal with it once the issue was dealt with.
I gave Toad Crane's money. I wasn't really too concerned for Toad himself, but I was more concerned for TJ's wellbeing, so giving him the money felt like it was the right thing to do.
And as for the final choice, I decided to talk. I was out-numbered, badly wounded from the Bloody Mary fight, and I had no idea what the Crooked Man's motives was. In the end, I decided to indulge him by having a 'friendly' chat.
I saw what happens to Colin in the comics. I don't want to be responsible for sending him there.
Honestly I chose to not send Colin to the farm because I like him. I know rules are rules, but he doesn't really hurt anyone by lurking around Bigby's apartment. I also don't want to send Toad to the farm, but he is more problematic because he is always walking around all over the place.
I didn't send Colin or Toad to the farm, surprised to hear so many did, it was higher when I played. I'm not going to send those Fables away just because Fabletown has failed to help them! About the Crooked Man, threatening seemed kind of pointless. Went with smoking.
Snow is the boss. On Colin, though, I gave Snow lip service while she was in the room, but after she left, I basically told Colin something like, "She's just overreacting. Give her some time." When it came up again later while talking to Toad, I told him that the jury was still out on Colin. And it was in my mind. My Bigby would enforce it if his back were up against the wall.
As to Toad, well...Bigby doesn't owe him jack shit, and Toad isn't the easiest guy in the world with whom to get along. Besides which, I didn't feel particularly bad about sending them to the farm--Fabletown is pretty messed up right now, with the Crooked Man and his crew shaking everybody down and such. Is this really the best place to even raise a kid? Even with that, I gave him some hope he could come back after things cool down.
As to not wanting to kill the Crooked Man, well...in my game, Bigby took it seriously when Colin and Snow implied that his work was sloppy, and he's determined to bring him to justice...by the book. Well, as much as is possible, anyway.
I was honestly surprised that is was the minority of people who decided to help Colin, he was Bigby's friend, and he was helping him. Same with Toad, I helped him, and thought that surely the majority would as well. If anything, I expected that more people would have helped Colin over Toad...
As for the end.... Lighting the cigarette is just so much more badass than threatening him.
Well I'll first go ahead and list off what I chose + the percentage of people who chose the same:
Colin: You and 32.6% of players chose not to give him an answer.
Toad: You and 47.2% of players decided Toad should not go to The Farm.
Crooked Man: You and 24.6% of players lit a cigarette.
I don't really know with Colin. He could have stayed, but he is an animal butchered for meat. Finding a place where him living longer than most pigs or not standing out as the same damn pig, or living as someone's pet pig etc, seems like a difficult thing to answer. So I didn't really know, and I chose silence, because it made for better drama.
I had the money to give Toad to let him stay. What I took from that was Crane's money was his own and not part of the Fabletown treasury, so I took that as a go-ahead. By that reasoning, I'm tempted to theorize that most people thought that the money confiscated from Crane's things was somehow part of the treasury, and therefore was included in Snow's blanket statement about conserving on the funds of Fabletown.
As for Crooked Man: I decided that if I couldn't just straight-up jump him, I'd do something non-verbal that could be interpreted as insulting depending on my demeanor, and the closest thing that fit the bill was lighting a cigarette, especially if you consider the choice you made earlier at Johann's shop.
I can't unterstand the Colin choice either, Snow was clearly just bitching on about one thing or another. Again.
Now, for Toad. He's a dick. It's as simple as that. He doesn't give a shit about anyone, and thinks anyone has to be at his wish. I gave him money, though, because I pittied his son. Not because I want Toad to stay.
And for the last choice: Lighting a cigarret was so much more badass
And it's also more threatening than, well, threatening him.
Because if you threaten him, you show a weakness. But just lighting a cig like a boss is way more irritating.
Obviously he cares about his son. But if you could, you'd arrange for him to go to The Farm and for Junior to stay, because he doesn't hold back from expressing his unbridled contempt for Crane, Bigby, and the Woodlands in general? That doesn't make him a dick. It makes you wonder just how long he's been putting up with Crane and living in a building the "city council" of the town fails to maintain yearly.
I sent Colin to the farm because that's just how it has to be, regardless of friendship or any desire to be contrary when Snow gives an order. Fabletown just can't have a talking pig walking around in the middle of New York, and the only alternative to the farm is actually restricting him to Bigby's tiny apartment on a permanent basis, which I very much doubt he'd enjoy for long. It's nothing personal, just plain reason.
As for Mr. Toad, I was going to take Snow's suggestion and send him the same way as Colin until he reminded me that I had in fact crashed through his wall and totaled his car without compensating him for it in any way whatsoever. Since I had the money to pay him back on the spot, and Snow had just finished preaching about a "cleaner, fairer" way of governing, compensating him for the damage done to his property by the Fabletown Government made perfect sense, neatly resolving that particular plot hole. Somewhat. It'd have been better to figure out exactly how much I owed him and give him only that much, with the requisite paperwork, but you can't have everything.
At any rate, Toad will probably cheap out on his glamour again before too long, and then there'll be no excuses. Knowing the farm from the comics, it's a much healthier place for his son to grow up anyway.
No shit, I did, but when I was talking to Toad there never came up an option to give Toad money. Just dialogue.
Why would you give Toad evidence of Crane's embezzlement? He deserves to go to the Farm for lying.
Wouldn't it be too late either way to save Toad and his son? Because even if you do send him to the farm are they going to leave that very same day and not a week or two later? Plenty of time for Bloody Mary to kill em both.
Nah, I'm a girl who plays WAU and I love strong female characters and I think females should have far more representation in video games. With that being said Snow was still being a bit of a bitch, yes she's trying to enforce rules but casting out fables at a time like this when everything is so disjointed just seems cruel. If fabletown is in such a mess I can't imagine the Farm being in order, she should look to managing out feeble issues after the bigger problems are dealt with. Her disregarding Colin and treating him like dirt who needs to be sent away (when she knows he's a friend of Bigby's) was not on, it's easy for her to send them away when she doesn't have to worry about glamours in the first place. Who even said that that rule was the right one to be in place to begin with? There are lot of things wrong with the fabletown government/policies and could be one of then. And that's got nothing to do with her gender because if a male character was saying the same stuff Snow was I'd think he was being a right prick and would disagree with him too.
They always leave late at night, so after midnight and before 6 AM. Snow could also get worried that something might go wrong and smash every mirror at Toad's place, saving them.
1.) I don't get how people can send Colin away, he's a bro and one of the few characters that's not always on Bigby's case all the time. He did nothing to deserve being sent away.
2.) Toad can be a dick sometimes but he's a good guy at the end of the day. There's really no need to mess with his life.
1 & 2.) The whole forcing fables away against their will because they look different is pretty questionable to me. Yes, it's a rule in place to "protect" Fabletown but who said it was the right way to manage things? I dunno, it just seems a bit oppressive that if a fable looks different and doesn't have enough cash they'll be sent away. I don't think it's the right way to do things.
3.) Personally I wanted to talk, there are a lot of unanswered questions and guys who wanted to kick my ass in that room. I'd rather find out a few things than jump straight to violence.
(?) I chose friendship over rules because Colin is awesome.
He was under duress, that exempts him. And the money in Crane's jacket isn't the only evidence of his embezzlement. Also, I don't care.
Colin ain't looking for trouble, at this point at least. Toad on the other hand is looking for trouble. Do you even remember what he said in episode 1? He said he was gonna get the glamour immediately in the morning, it's been almost a week. He was twisting his way to prevent Bigby from helping him. He ain't supposed to be walking around New York in the day, him walking around in the day is dangerous for the entire community.
