Technical question about save files (this is the first computer game I ever played)
Pardon my ignorance, but the only other 3D game I ever played was Battlezone in the 80s.
I want to go back halfway into episode 4 so I can see what happens if I take another path. I also want to take a closer look at the final scene with crooked man. I don't even remember who-all was in the room. But when I click "save files" there is only one choice, and it takes me to when the episode is already completed.
Do you have to make your own save files during game play?
What happened to the saves that are automatically done when Bigby dies? Can't I go back to them?
Do I have the ability to replay episode 4 from the start?

I may start playing games. I hope not, because I'm in grad school (online classes). The summer semester starts Monday, and this Fables game is both timeconsuming and addictive. Nevertheless, I'm gonna tempt fate and ask, is there a game with the complex, highly-detailed, tessellated Directx-11 3D worlds of AAA first person shooter games, but without shooting people? I mean, other than Sim City, games for little kids, and Second life. BTW, in SL I'm "Faye Paine" and hang around BDSM areas.

You can have up to 4 differrent save files. You can't go back to a previous save point if you already have another one. To restart episode 4 you must either replay all the other three episodes in a different save file or you can finish again episode 3 from the last checkpoint and then you'll have to replay episode 4.
As others mentioned, you have four save files.
You can start a new save and replay the game to make different choices, or you can "rewind" - which means you select a previous chapter from the episode selection screen, and create a copy of the save file with every choice made up until the selected chapter (allowing you to replay all the chapters afterwards to make new choices).
The game automatically creates a save file once you play, and saves after certain intervals as well as chapters in an episode.
Death does not punish you in this game. When you die, you start back a few moments earlier on the same save file and are given another chance to beat the Quick Time Event without dying.
Yes. As I mentioned above, just select the start of Episode four from the Chapter select screen. You have the choice of "rewinding" so that you may have all the player choices you made up until then, or starting a new file which will randomly generate player choices for any section of the game you did not play.
