How Fables die?
I was just wondering about how Fables die. Are they immortal if they are very populair or is it somethings else?

Cutting off their head works apparently.
Being very popular may or may not make them more powerful and harder to kill, although even in-universe that's just a theory that the Fables have. They can be killed via extremes such as decapitation and being blown up, although one of the most popular ones survived a sniper rifle round in the head.
Fables are hard to kill, but can be killed numerous ways. Decapitation works and taking lots of damage. Bigby for example almost died after his confrontation with Bloody Mary.
They die in all sorts of ways just like people.
In the comics for instance Bufkin simply passes away from old age.
Never thought I'll feel bad about the flying monkey dieing but I confess I teared up at the end of that comic.
Ok. Thanks for your reaction but maybe you want to put a spoiler on this comment I don't care but maybe some people who read the comics I don't read them I think i'm gonna read them but it would be nice for some people to not spoil it
Gah, spoiler tag man!
Sorry guys.
This is a good point, but I have to add that I kind of figured that Bufkin died of old age because he ended up back in the Homelands. It doesn't seem like Fables in the mundane world die of old age, or, at any rate they have been living in the mundane world for so many centuries that they don't know if it's possible for them to die of old age there. Maybe I'm wrong. It's kind of a grey area for the universe.
As far as the original question goes, they are what I would call near immortals. They can generally live through a lot of abuse, but they can and do die. Beheadings, severe trauma, dismemberment, and strong malevolent magic have killed Fables in the comics. There is a possibility that their resilience is linked to their popularity, though as MindWeb mentioned that's more of a theory and it doesn't seem to be set in stone.
Also, aside from just popularity, the nature of the Fable seems to have something to do with it too. All Fables have a special near immortal status in the mundane world, but on top of that a very strong Fable like Bigby, or a very powerful magical Fable like Frau Totenkinder may be even harder to kill than a more "average" non-magical Fable.
I just read that part
