WD S2 Android Sound Issues
Hi,
since WD S2 was released Yesterday i had to get it instantly. Unfortunately I'm only getting static Sound on my Nexus 5, no real working Audio. I also rebootet and reinstalled the Game, no change. On my Nexus 7 on the other Hand it works just fine so I'm assuming this is only related to the Nexus 5. Can somebody confirm this on a N5, so we could pass this on to the Devs!?

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you are using headphones while you are playing, or just through the speakers on your device? Also, have you experienced this at all with any other games on your Nexus 5?

sorry, forgot that part. It doesn't matter if I use the Speaker or Headphones i get only static sound on both. Haven't had this issue on any other Game, everything else is running smoothly. I'm also running the latest Android Version 4.4.4, and in fact I'm using the exact same Rom on my Nexus 7 which has no Problems regarding the Sound in WDS2 whatsoever.
Edit: Maybe someone sees this and can also try it on a N5 and Report Back, since i can't be 100% sure to rule out my Rom (altough it works on my other Device).

Thank you for the extra information. Can you please clarify if you are running any other apps in the background, that may be using some of your device's processing speed? We have checked this locally on a Nexus 5, and have not received this same issue. Also, have you made sure that the app is updated to the latest version from the app store? Can you please clarify which Rom you are using on your Nexus 5?
Nexus 4, KK 4.4.4 CyanogenMod11 Nightly - sound issues too. With both seasons.
Hi, i think we found something to go on with. I'm on a Nexus 5, but my Rom is also partly based on CM (im running Carbon Rom). Seems like something has changed over time, the Last time i played Season 1 was on Android 4.4.2 (same Rom) when it worked.
I tried Season 1 today and also just got sound scrampling. This is only affecting The Walking Dead Games, GTA Series, Max Payne and others are just working fine. Factory Reset today didn't change anything. Switching to a Stock Rom is not an Option for me sadly. Guess i have to live with that. Thanks anyway for the Reports and the suggestions :-)
Thank you for posting the extra information. Unfortunately at this time we do not officially support running our game with any Android mods running in the background. I recommend if possible, switching to a Stock Rom, and then launching the game again, and the game should then work properly. My apologies for any difficulties this causes you.
Hello im runing stock android 4.4.4 on my nexus4 - Unfortunately, the problem with Sound is also with me - I only hear a strange crackling:/

My apologies, please make sure your android device is updated to the latest version. Also, try force stopping the game application, and then turn off your device for a few minutes. This will allow the device's cache to clear. If the issue still occurs, I recommend deleting and re-downloading the application from the App Store (Please note that this will delete your save data).
Dear @TelltaleMike I have the latest android (4.4.4) and latest google play services (5.0). I downloaded the game 3 times already (from google play store) clear app data, restart phone and the issue still occurs:( there are still crackles. I play entire TWD S1 on my device when i have android 4.4.2 without problem.Today I try to install WD s1 on 4.4.4 to see if there are also audio problems and yes they occurs. I would love to play TWD S2 but unfortunetly i cannot downgrade my system what else i can do?

SlimKat / Android 4.4.4
Season 1 and Season 2
Seems to only affect some Devices. I'm running SlimKat on my Nexus 7 (2012) now and both Seasons work just fine. Well, at the Latest it should be fixed with the Android L Release later this year.
My apologies, my only other suggestion would be to make sure that you have updated the game application to the latest version, and that you are not running any other applications or roms in the background while playing the game.
Unfortunately at this time we do not officially support running our game with any Android mods or Roms running in the background.
Dear @TelltaleMike I have problem With your games "WD S2 Android"
So, uhm.... UNFORTUNATELY This game is not running on Android Kitkat 4.4.2 like Samsung Galaxy S5 or on Android x86, It's stuck on Checking File OBB with 0MB/0MB. But "WD S1 Android" can Run the file without problem
Note : Connection Data is On
I will purchase this game "WD S1 Android" and "WD S2 Android" if this games Run well on Android Kitkat 4.4.2

1) Make sure your OS is updated to the most recent version
2) Force stop the application, and then relaunch it
3) Turn off your device for a few minutes, before attempting to launch The Walking Dead again.
4) Delete the application from your device, and re-download it from the App Store (Please note that this will delete any save data you have)
I root my phone and install latest slimcat rom with android 4.4.4 and sound is fine now. :P

I was playing the game on my oneplus one, and everything worked just fine until I got the latest OTA update that updated the phone to Android 4.4.4.

As I have read over the internet this sound Buzz bug seems to hit everybody who is on Android 4.4.4.
Telltale you really need to have a look at this, its not just a bad download. its a bug!. Please fix so i can continue this awesome game.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately if you have recently updated your device's OS and you are experiencing this issue, you may need to delete and re-download the game application on your device. Please note that your save files will be erased in the process.
Trust me that has been done multiple times already.. No luck. If you look at the link I postet, other people are having the same issue and they installed The game after the update. Bug report as been filed to cyanogenmod but it does seem to be a specific problem with the walking dead and android 4.4.4 as everybody who is having this issue seem to be running Android 4.4.4. Every other game seems to be working fine only the walking game has this sound buzz bug.
Same here, i have just updated my OnePlus One and WD S1 has the same buzz issue... I confirm that it had no problem with 4.4.2 before the update
NO SOUND IN KITKAT 4.4.4 If you have a newer device like the Oneplus One, Nexus 5, or anything running Kitkat 4.4.4 you will NOT have any sound. Instead you will have loud buzzing noises in it's place. This game is damaging my speakers. Why hasn't there been a successful fix to this?!
What i get out of all this is that the game does not support 4.4.4.. i just got my Oneplus One and i cant play this game.. the phone is amazing and nothing is wrong. all uppdated.. plz fix i want to play the game!

just to report back and to help Telltale here, this is none of their fault. I have been doing a little bit of digging and this Problem was entirely caused by Cyanogenmod, so any Device like the One Plus One (which is running Cyanogen Mod by default) or any Custom Rom based on Cyanogen Mod for other Devices suffer from this Bug if the have merged a specific Patch in the Past.

I can absolutely confirm that this fixes the Problem, i asked the Developers for my Custom Rom to Patch this in and both Seasons are working fine, there is no more buzzing Sound!

No problem, but nothing to pass along on your side ;-) This has to be done by the Rom Developers if they use Cyanogen Mod as a Base.
