Does this tweet confirm that we'll have a season two? (Mod Edit: No, because it's not from Telltale)

"Looks like we're wrapping up SEASON ONE of TWAU"

Has there been any other sources indicating for another season? I really hope so...

  • Well the teaser image says SEASON Finale.

They always call the endings to their games season finales, even if there is never another episode.

  • I'd say it's evidence they haven't ruled out a sequel series/season, but not really concrete proof; Telltale have always called their games seasons, regardless. If they really wanted a sequel right from the start, they'd probably have given it a subtitle. Either way, I'd guess it's going to have to wait for the Borderlands game first before it'd ever begin work.

Still, while I don't think Wolf has been as much a critic's darling and flat-out successful as TWD, it's by no means done shabby. So, that helps.

  • yea they said the same thing about back to the future and they even put to be continued at the end of episode 5 4 years later and we still don't have a season 2

  • No, because the guy who said that works at IGN, he is not a Telltale employee. He really has no idea if there will be a season 2 or not.

  • I was going to say this, but you took the words right out of my mouth. That being said, I desperately hope for a Season 2.

To be fair, Telltale did kind of reinvent their core gameplay with Walking Dead Season 1, so it's at least a little reasonable that we would not have a BttF Season 2 so soon.

Heck, the same thing happened with Wolf Among Us. The game was supposed to premiere in Q1 2012, but Telltale internally revised the game to incorporate the Walking Dead gameplay, and the first Episode ending up releasing in Q3 2013.

(I really need to add a new one to the books)

  • I'd love a season 2 of Wolf but do we really need a second season? We've covered a huge amount of story and character stuff and there's literally a mountain of Fables comics to read if you want to find out what happens to Bigby, Snow, Beauty, Beast, Colin and Fabletown as a whole.

  • Yeah. The more telltale tries to stay in that world and use central characters Like Snow and Bigby, the more they are going to get boxed in by the existing cannon. Which is one of the reasons why i dont think there is going to be another season of Wolf Among us.

I'm not sure this is a good idea, but if they really do feel boxed in (they have twenty years of time to play with?), they could say the first season is canon but make it so the second season isn't. Afterall, wasn't Lilly in The Walking Dead meant to be the same one as in the comics, but then it changed for one reason or another?

Anyway, I'm not saying they should do what I mentioned above, but it is one way around the issue if there even is one, which I'm not convinced about. That said, my personal viewpoint is we should wait and see how season 1 ends first before discussing this. I think it's safe to say that there won't be a second season for quite some time too, even if they intend to do so.

At the end of the day, like officersmile1466 said, a second season might not be needed (though sure, it'd be nice, even if it's a new story with the first season's story being neatly wrapped up).

  • I should clarify, if they DO announce a second season, then I would get it in a heartbeat. The world of Fables is so big and so rich with potential there's literally dozens of possible games they could do for season 2.

BUT if Telltale don't make a second season (and with the fairly average response from the public plus the walking dead cash cow plus the Borderlands and Game of Thrones games in the pipeline, I'd be fairly surprised if they do commit to another season of Wolf) it wouldn't really matter because we have so much detail and love in this season that we don't desperately need more.

Unless of course Telltale are utterly cruel and end this season on a maddening cliffhanger or some major plot point unresolved or something like that...
