Go buy a book ending

Is anyone else beside me feeling cheated about that. No real choices just go read a book to find out what is going on. What is this a game to sell a book it's like a big advertisment.

  • Man, I sure don't get this Back to the Future game. It's like they want me to go and buy the movies first to understand the games plot.
    It's one big advertisement conspiracy!!!1!1!1!1!1!1!1!

It was just a suggestion. If there is a season 2, it's not going to come out anytime soon, so supplement your Fables fix with the books, or so I took it as.

  • Well, to be fair, the game is based on the comics and it is set before the comics so it makes a certain kind of sense to put it in I think. I don't really see a problem with it.

For sure, this haha guy is totally ungrateful.

  • It was probably one of the conditions of acquiring the license.

  • Seriously - suggesting you the comic series of which this game is based upon. Basically telling you, "Hey! If you liked that, you also gonna enjoy the comics!", what sort of monsters are Telltale?

By the way, you should really buy the comics, they are brilliant.

  • Yeah the comics are great I started reading them after ep.1 of TWAU, the game only managed to capture the tiniest fraction of the fables universe, I would highly recommend it

  • Well you pay for a game....

    You play it

You get a big cliff hanger...

Then go buy a book I have to say I won't be buying anymore tell tale games. It;s like mass effect 3 just buy the DLC to get the ending more then 1 company gives the big finger to people that play their games. I hate companys that do that but with the lack of news about the next episoide. The run around they do they say you got all this great choice but you really don't they always force you down the exact same path with no real changes. I know it's hard to make a game with a real choice but really it's the same thing no mater how you play. If you play the episoides by being good then being bad you get the same results regardless. That and a cliff hanger is really anoying.

  • You would think so but it seems some can't even handle a <5 second screen that interrupts nothing.

  • Coulda sworn the game was an alternate continuity of sorts...

  • "It ended with a cliffhanger, and they mentioned the comics! It must be a plot to scam us of our money!"

If you really think a little advertisement at the end of the game for the comics it was based upon is enough to ruin the game so much that you'd never want to play another Telltale game ever again, you don't deserve these games.

  • It wasn't the go buy the book by it self that annoyed me it was the pick what you want to say to her then it just goes end. Go after do nothing then end. That leaves a big hanger then go buy the book is like a Big F you on top. I know other people feel the same way so I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way. Sure they might make another one but I don't like endings like that they do that for TV shows as well and it just seems like a big F you to the people who watch or play the game.

Um, why would they put all his time and energy into creating a great ending for it to be just an advertisement for the comics? A Season 2 of this game is probably not going to be coming out until mid-2015 or until GoT is over, which could be just as long if not longer. Because of that, they are saying if you enjoyed this story, go check out the comics this game is based on.

"It wasn't the go buy the book by it self that annoyed me it was the pick what you want to say to her then it just goes end. "

Thats kinda the point of a cliffhanger buddy - to leave you in suspense for the sequel

  • Please buy the ending for a game you already bought...

Final fanitsy did this and it didn't go over well. Me i wouldn't buy the DLC for that simple reason I would just watch it on youtube for free get the same effect and not have to pay for an ending you should of got if they make a DLC for it.

It would just bring you more understanding and close the heated debate of "Nerissa is Faith" or "Faith is Nerissa." I wouldn't call it the ending more as a backstory to Season 1.

  • The "ending" isn't what they are telling you to read. What you saw is the ending. There's no more. You can wonder all you want about whether the final girl was Faith or Nerissa -- there's no more information out there. There's nothing in the comics about Faith or Nerissa. Crane got away. He didn't kill anyone. He got run out of his job. He never gets punished for merely embezzling funds. Yes, he appears in the comics and gets involved in other problems.

This story is over. Deal with it.

The comics have barely anything to do with the game besides a few of the characters being main or supporting members of the comic. And the comics have been ongoing since 2002, there is absolutely no chance of any of these events being resolved in the comic (except for the whole Crane thing, but that happened several years before TWAU came out).

Says who? I don't know if they will be able to keep the whole Faith/Nerissa story on for another season, sure, but I see no reason not to give us our unanswered questions in some shape or form, presumably a DLC.

  • Cry Wolf got a lot of stuff wrong. But It got a lot of stuff right as well. Don't focus on the downsides.

  • I really hope you realize that the comics NEVER make any mention of the events of TWAU because the comics were created 11 years before TWAU. It's just a simple advertisement.

  • Well their is that one mention during the comics

They actually do at some point. In issue #22 Crane states the reasons he had to leave Fabletown (Snow) and Bigby mentions Crane's rape fantasy of Snow. I'm at issue #50 now and haven't seen any other TWAU references and I doubt if I will down the road.

  • Yeah, the comic does not answer the cliff hanger. Not in the slightest way.

They are not telling you to buy the comics to get an ending. Faith will never be mentioned again in it. Going on will not give you basically any new revelations. They're just saying "If you want to see what Bigby's up to in 20 years, go check them out!"

  • I started reading the comics and they are great, I'm not too far in the series but I now know what happens with Crane, Bigby, Jack, Colin and other fables.

  • the comics have nothing to do with the events of twau so don't get all pissed off it seems fair that they advertise the comics once you finish if telltale are allowed to make money off someone else's creation they should advertise the comics to newcomers who have only heard of twau and not the comics

  • I support them completely in encouraging people to read, first of all, and the read the comics secondly. I still dont understand why you feel cheated. You played a complete game with a cliffhanger. Its just more to look forward to in hopes of a second season. The comics, as has been said, is the not the second part of the story.
