I did the exact same as you it just felt that's how Bigby would've done things, no bullshit. But I played it a second time & put him on trial them got everyone on my side
I tried to be a bad guy and killed crookedman on my second playthrough. I made Bluebeard afraid of me growled and generally treated everyone like crap. Still got everyone on my side.
