So Bigby is immune to cancer?

I think it is safe to say that Bigby has been smoking since arriving in North America. So he and other Fables are bothered by mundy illness then?

  • I'm just going to call you ignorant and leave it at that.

  • Care to explain so I'm not ignorant any longer?

You obviously have no idea how lung cancer work you just assume if you smoke 1 or 2 smokes each day you will get cancer. My grandfather smoked 5 or 6 a day in his 20's and stopped smoking in his 50's i think and he is 83 years old and goes jogging every week. Yes, you can get cancer from smoking but only 35k people have lung cancer. The real problem with smoking is the problems you will get if you're not active at all. By running reguarlly you reduce the effect of smoking with 80%

  • Well, this is a guy who can survive pretty much everything. To answer your question, no, Bigby and the other fables don't need to concern themselves with illness. They don't even age.

  • So... no STDs?

  • Not everybody knows that. I don't think everybody has a grandfather that smoked a lot and goes jogging everyday

No, that shouldn't be the case:).

Still, a fable having one will certainly be a twist. I wonder how Swineheart will proceed then?

    So... no STDs?

1 smoke daily was enough to kill my father after 15 years of smoking.

    What? 35k? that's some bullshit story m8.
    1k = 1000

According to Siegel's raport over 220,000 people in the United States were diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2013.

  • It's really a dice roll with smoking.

  • Bigbys lungs are steel!

  • Meh all his huff and puffs are just used as powerups for his wolf mode fight with bloody Mary lol. All that air gotta get some of the smoke out those lungs

  • Bigby Wolf. All he needs to solve crimes his a bad attitude and a never ending pack of smokes.

  • I'm inclined to agree. Even if the Fables could possibly contract diseases, we're dealing with characters that can survive massive amounts of trauma that no human could hope to endure. If they can recover from things like an axe to the brain, I'm guessing something less immediately deadly, like cancer, wouldn't pose much of a threat.

  • Don't spread information like that. Smoking cigarettes will fill your body with carcinogens and these will cause cancer. Doesn't matter how much you smoke.

  • Hold the phone guys. Bigby has Lycanthropy which is a virus. So he is susceptible to some illnesses, if you'd call it that.

  • Well we know Bigby has some kind of healing factor going on. So it's plausible the tobaco doesn't harm him since it's ill effects are purged out.
Fables do get sicknesses from the mundy world as seen with Lily and the drugs.

  • Regardless, everyone should know that smoking regularly is nowhere near a guarantee of cancer.
