App crashes on startup
Since a few days ago, when I try to open The Walking Dead - Season 2 on my iPhone 5, the app constantly crashes. It specifically happens after I click on the "Tap to begin" prompt and the app tries to launch the main menu. The animation of the wind turbine starts playing, but it freezes before the menu appears. It always happens at the very same moment. I've tried rebooting the phone, running the app in airplane mode with all other apps closed and updated from iOS 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 (the version I am currently running). Nothing seems to work. I haven't tried deleting the app because I fear that my save data will be lost in the process and I'm not aware of any way to back them up. I don't know whether the following has any relation to the current problem, but before the app started crashing, I was trying to download Episode 3 and the download was stuck at 63% with the app repeatedly reporting an internet access problem, even though I was connected to a working Wi-Fi access point and no other apps had problems with internet access. How can I resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I apologize for the inconvenience. If you are experiencing crashing during the connecting page, it may be due to a connectivity issue. I recommend closing all applications that are open in the background, clearing your cache by turning your phone off for at least 5-10 minutes, then restarting the device, and instead of connecting to your normal WiFi network, try connecting to a different network, and see if you are then able to successfully start the application. Once you are able to connect and get to the main menu, you will have downloaded all of the patches necessary for starting the game application successfully. I would also recommend trying to download the episodes on that network as well, and see if you are able to receive a stronger connection, and quicker download speeds because of it.
