Fix the freezing, PLEASE

Can't play the game at all.. rewinding it just freezes in loading screen, and if I do actually get in the game it just freezes randomly.

Please tell me you're working on a fix.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify where in the game you are freezing? Also, which model PS3 are you currently playing, and how much space do you have left on your hard drive?

Please try deleting the game from your system, and re-download it from the Playstation Store. After your download and install the game, and Episode 5, please start it, and choose to NOT download the update, then see if you are able to play the game without the freezing issue.

  • I have over 100gb free space, running latest patch I've tried what you said about playing without the update and reinstall but nothing changed.

It freezes on episode 5 when I go into elevator also if I try rewinding episodes it freezes on loading.

Are yo working on an update to fix at all??

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately at this time, I do not believe there are plans to release an update. My apologies, please try Restoring your PS3 File System & Database and see if you are then able to continue the Episode without this issue occurring.

I apologize, unfortunately if my previous suggestions did not work, I am out of potential solutions to resolve your issue. Unfortunately my only other recommendation would be to try deleting and re-downloading/installing the game again, and this time make sure to download all of the updates, and try playing again, or start a new game.

  • Hello, I myself have been having the same issue, I only just bought myself a new PS3 and hoped that i would be able to play this again without the loading freezing, this is still happening. It must be an issue with the actual game, so i wouldnt worry about formatting your playstation or anything drastic as its doing the same on a brand new PS.

A fix has to be done on this or we have literally spent money on a faulty game.

  • So basically since your suggestions don't work, I'm all out of luck and paid for a game I can't finish. And no planned update or fix. That's good business.

If you are experiencing freezing on a particular episode, you can try deleting the DLC from the game by deleting the Game Data Utility for the game from the Game Data Utility menu on your XMB. After deleting it, re-download/reinstall the episode(s), and then restart the game while connected to the internet, and make sure that you have downloaded the latest update for the game. Then start an episode, and see if the freezing issue is resolved.

  • Everytime I try to start the game from a saved point, or rewind anywhere, or really do anything other than starting a new game, it simply freezes somewhere between one and ten seconds after starting.

Im currently on a second playthrough (because I thought the game was worth another go) and im staring at a screen that says "The Tweedle Brothers' Office" looking at Mr. Wolf on the right half of the screen.

I might understand this if it was a game that was eating up a large majority of system resources, or required a lot of loading, but this game shouldn't require a million years worth of texture/data loading, being as it's artstyle should minimize that sort of resource drain.

As it sits, im pissed because Im rarely ever home to get to play with an internet connection, and wasting my time deleting and redownloading is an issue that should be resolved during playtesting, especially considering it's a solid freeze before I can even interact.

    More info:

On 250gb playstation slim (superslim?) with at least 100gb left minimum. first save file occupied, incomplete. Second save file occupied, Complete. Third save file occupied, Incomplete. Fourth save file empty.

I'll let you know if anything changes, but this should never really be an issue, especially a whole system crash from a game.

    Sincerely,
Happy with the games, disappointed with the crashing.

Thank you for providing the extra information. I will make sure to pass it along to the team for further investigation. Unfortunately it appears that you have tried all of my potential solutions. The only other suggestion would be to delete the Game Data Utility for the game, from the Game Data Utility menu from the XMB, and then restart the game while connected to the internet, and make sure to download the latest update for the game before playing.
