What exactly is extended play?

I know dumb question, but I got episode 1 and 2 only a couple weeks ago, on Wiiware, and I haven't quite figured out all the features, though I have beat the main games.

    After you beat the game, go to save/load and your auto-save slot will be filled by a thing that says "Extended Play!"

    From there, you can continue to play, wander around, and pick up some extra stuff you might have missed, and get some new dialogue exchanges between the characters as a kind of epilogue to the episode.
