Black Screen after downloading S2E4 and trying to play it

I've already tried clearing the cache, but nothing happens. I cannot enter the dashboard after the black screen, and the only solution is to turn off my xbox. It is an Xbox 360, not old at all, and has an internal hard drive of 300 GB with almost no space taken up. I have also downloaded the update. Please help.

Can you please clarify how long you have waited at the black screen? Also, is there a loading/saving icon at the bottom right of the screen? Please try restarting the game, and wait 2-5 minutes and see if the black screen corrects itself. If not, please reply, and I will assist you further.

  • Same Problem here. I bought a season pass. I playes episode 1, downloaded episode 2 nd 3. Today I wanted to play, went to my dashboard and chose "my games". I chose THWD 2 from the menu and after a few seconds I got a black screen. Nothing happens for about 5 minutes. I tried to go back to dashboard but my console stuck, so I had to shut it down. Same problem after a few tries. But what worked shutting down the console from my menu during the blackscreen. Solution would be nice :)
    Thanks in advance.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you have downloaded the fourth episode yet? Also, have you tried starting the game connected to the internet, and logged into your Xbox Live profile to ensure you have downloaded the Title Update?

Mike, the problem has begun again in Episode 5. I download the episode, and I am connected to the internet and have downloaded the title update, but after I press start the game is frozen on a black screen for ages. I can't open the Xbox dashboard. What is the problem? How do I fix it? And why has this problem happened twice?

Also, the last time I had this problem, I had to delete the episode and download it a second time with an empty cache.

My apologies, we have not heard of this particular issue occurring with the latest episode release. Unfortunately at this time, the only known solution is to delete, and re-download the episode, as you may have received an incomplete or corrupted download the first time. I recommend try deleting the episode and re-downloading, without clearing your cache, and see if your issue is resolved.

  • i have the same issue and i have reindtall the game 3 times. The 5th episode is completely unplayable.

  • Okay finally got it to play. Had to uninstall and reinstall 4 times to get it to work. Never buying another game from Telltale ever again. That was ridiculous.
