Choices random episode to episode :( - XBOX360 bug

I love Tell tales games. The first season of the walking dead is just fantastic.
And I've really enjoyed the wolf among us.

To me, the "choices as gameplay" works really well and is the major pull of the games. Core to this is the fact that choices matter, ie they carry over from one episode to the next.

Unfortunately after finishing episode 5 last night I feel somewhat let down by The Wolf Among Us.
Every episode starts with a 'recap' and (I should have noticed this sooner) each one time I watched a recap I've been found myself thinking "did I choose that?"

  • The recap of episode 1 showed me being slient to beast, I was not, I lied to him.
  • The recap of episode 3 showed me beating up the tweedel brother, I killed him.
  • The recap of episode 4 showed me fighting with colin, I did not.

Episode 5 of the walking dead made me cry. The beauty of these games is that with each episode your choices add up more and more, they matter, the game becomes yours more and more. By episode 5 I'm so invested that it's the best episode of all, and everything has weight.

But when I began episode 5 and saw nothing was as I choose it I was just completely removed from the game. I was no longer playing my game where my choices mattered.

Simply put; it sucked.

Is there any known bug with xbox360 saves not carrying over?

I'm asking this because I want to start playing season 2 of TWD (don't ask why I haven't yet) but don't want the same issues to occur.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you ever exited or closed the game during the closing credits? If so, your choices may have not been recorded properly, and I recommend that you rewind and make sure to play through an episode where your choice was not correct, and when you complete the episode, make sure to wait until the credits are over before continuing with the game. If you have made sure to watch the credits after each episode, can you please clarify if you were playing the game while connected to the internet, or offline?

  • Hi Mike,
The credits, really? That explains it. I'm pretty sure I would have exited them early every time.
From memory exiting them is very easy (simple 'b' button press) and doesn't prompt you that you're skipping the 'record my game' features at all.

Would this also explain way despite playing all 5 episodes I still don't have any 'player stats' available?

My apologies, yes, this is when your player stats for the episode are recorded to our servers, and you are locally sent the overall stats from our servers. Unfortunately I would have to recommend that you play through the ends of the episodes again while connected to the internet, and make sure that you allow the credits to finish, and you see the next screen before continuing. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you.
